With that, Sophia turned around and walked away, leaving Lana alone with the strange ghost shopkeeper and his collection of mysterious cards.
Lana watched Sophia walk away and could not help but wonder about her reaction.
She had expected Sophia to at least ask her to buy something in exchange for leaving, or perhaps promise to give Lana money in return for some Ethereum Gold.
’Could it be that Sophia already has these things with her? Or has she seen them before and simply is not curious?’
If Sophia could hear Lana’s inner thoughts, she would probably have turned around and slapped her hard.
Sophia was walking away with an expression of pride, her back straight and her steps steady, but only she knew how much she was crying internally.
’How could I possibly afford something that expensive?’
Meanwhile, Lana pointed toward several random cards. "I want all of these."
The shopkeeper did not even lift his head. "Thank you for your patronage. Please offer 10 Kg of Ethereum Gold."
Lana did not hesitate. She took out an Ethereum Gold bar and placed it directly on the table with a heavy metallic thud.
The moment the shopkeeper saw the Ethereum Gold, his expression changed completely.
He had assumed Lana was merely pointing at random items and would eventually try to haggle with him. Instead, she had casually placed the payment on the table without even blinking.
’Have I been underestimating this customer?’
The shopkeeper suddenly felt as though he had been tricked somehow.
"Dear guest, please forget my attitude from earlier. I had eaten some overly spicy food before coming here, and my stomach was suffering from severe acidity. Unfortunately, I even ended up farting in front of you."
Lana’s lips twitched. ’This guy was definitely a salesman before he became a ghost.’
She took a deep breath. "I am not interested in listening to your nonsense. Just give me everything I asked for."
The shopkeeper immediately nodded. "Of course, of course."
He quickly gathered the cards and carefully packed them. His lips were stretched into an enormous smile, and his shoulders shook as he worked, as though he were struggling not to laugh from sheer happiness.
Once he handed everything to Lana, he carefully touched the Ethereum Gold. The moment his fingers made contact with it, he could sense the pure energy contained within.
His eyes immediately lit up. ’This is real Ethereum Gold.’
He quickly grabbed the bar and repeatedly thanked Lana. "Thank you, dear guest. Thank you so much."
Lana ignored him and pointed toward another card.
"Since you are being such a generous shopkeeper, I would feel as though I had not done you justice if I left without taking that card as well."
The shopkeeper’s eyes brightened.
"That card originally cost me five kilograms of Ethereum Gold. However, I am willing to give it to you for three kilograms. It is one of the special cards in my collection."
Lana picked up the card and examined it. "Really? What does it do?"
The ghost shopkeeper smiled.
"You simply need to cut your finger and drop your blood onto the card. Then, another person must also place their blood on it. Once the ritual is complete, the person whose blood has been placed on the card will come under your control for the next seventy-two hours."
Lana’s eyes widened, yet she paid for it and bought 10 of them. She immediately pointed toward one of the cards she had already purchased.
"What about these?"
The shopkeeper began explaining them one by one.
"The angel card allows you to summon a demon from the Demon Realm. You simply need to offer your blood and chant the incantation that will appear in your mind once the card recognizes you."
Lana’s expression gradually became colder.
The shopkeeper continued without noticing her reaction.
"However, the demon you summon will demand a sacrifice. Specifically, a human sacrifice. You will have to offer a human life before the entity fulfills one of your wishes."
A chill traveled down Lana’s spine. ’These cards are much more dangerous than I expected.’
She pointed toward another card, this one depicting a strange girl who looked like a child. The shopkeeper immediately continued.
"As long as you place your blood and the blood of a child on this card, the child’s age will be transferred to you. In other words, you will remain eternally young and beautiful."
He looked Lana up and down before grinning. "You are already very beautiful. You should definitely take another one of these cards. I have plenty more."
Lana immediately shook her head. "No, thank you. I am not interested."
She quickly pointed toward another card. This one depicted a strange, unidentifiable object. The ghost shopkeeper’s smile widened.
"This is the best card you have chosen."
He carefully picked it up.
"As long as you place your blood on the card and then place an ordinary object on top of it, such as a pocket lamp or another small possession, that object will become a cursed item."
Lana frowned. The shopkeeper continued.
"If you place the cursed object inside someone’s house, it will bring that person an enormous amount of bad luck. However, the good fortune that person would have originally possessed will be transferred to you."
He smiled proudly. "So, this is undoubtedly the best item."
Lana’s brows furrowed. ’Every single one of these cards is cursed.’
She suddenly regretted spending so much Ethereum Gold. ’Still, it is not completely useless.’
Lana took a breath and calmed herself. ’I will not allow negativity to control my life. I can remain positive and simply treat these things as useful tools.’
"All right."
With that, Lana turned around and prepared to leave. The ghost shopkeeper quickly called after her.
"Would you like to buy some ghost essences as well? I have three-thousand-year-old ghosts, five-thousand-year-old ghosts, and even seven-thousand-year-old ghost essences. They are all quite interesting."
Lana immediately stopped. "Seven-thousand-year-old ghost essence?"
The shopkeeper gave her a peculiar look. "Have you just entered the Ghost Domain?"
