Chapter 635: International Mystic Competition
With that, she deliberately lowered her gaze and looked at his private parts. Axel immediately covered Lana’s eyes with his hand.
’This girl truly knows how to offend everyone.’
Indeed, the next second, a furious roar echoed through the hallway.
"How dare you? Just you wait! I will charge you with the offense of attempting to molest a country’s noble prince!"
Calix turned toward his bodyguard and angrily ordered him to make the necessary call.
The bodyguard immediately nodded and pulled out his phone. However, before he could even make the call, Lana burst out laughing.
"All right, then. Go ahead and do it. If you do not, I will seriously look down on you."
The moment she said those words, Calix became even more furious.
He glared at his bodyguard.
"You have ten seconds. If you do not do exactly what I told you to do, just wait and see how I will deal with your entire family."
The bodyguard’s face immediately turned pale.
He hurriedly made the call and explained the entire situation. After speaking for a while, he slowly lowered his phone.
His expression was strained as he looked toward Calix. "Young Master, it might not be possible for us to arrest this young lady."
Calix’s eyes widened in disbelief.
"Why? Has my dignity fallen so low that even some stray dog can insult me without consequence?"
The bodyguard swallowed nervously before explaining,
"Young Master, the person who owns the property here is a former winner of the Mystic Cultivation Competition. The apartment was recently transferred to this young lady’s name. Therefore, this apartment belongs to her."
The moment those words were spoken, Calix’s expression changed.
He had originally assumed that Lana was merely renting the apartment and had offered her money because he wanted to stay there.
Who would have thought that she actually owned the place? Calix took a deep breath and looked toward Lana.
She was standing there with a mocking smile on her face, clearly enjoying his discomfort. His anger surged again.
"Even so, she still dared to look at my private parts!"
Hearing that, Lana laughed.
"Do not worry. There was nothing interesting enough to make me want to look at it again. I only wanted to confirm whether you were actually a lady. Otherwise, how else would you know so many rules and regulations from the Tang Dynasty of China?"
The moment she finished speaking, Calix’s expression darkened. "You are incredibly infuriating."
He pointed toward her. "You must be here to watch the competition, right? Just so you know, I am a participant."
Lana chuckled. "What a coincidence. I am a participant too, so we will both see each other at the dueling ground."
Calix’s eyes widened in surprise. For a moment, he remained silent before scoffing. "Truly, the standard of this competition has fallen."
With that, he turned around and walked away, his footsteps echoing through the hallway. Lana rolled her eyes before entering the apartment.
She turned toward Axel with an expression of dissatisfaction. "Why did you stay silent? Why did you not take my side?"
Axel chuckled.
"Simply because you will soon face him on the dueling ground. At that time, I will not be there to argue with him for you. You will be completely on your own."
He glanced at her seriously. "If you practice and I notice anything wrong, I will correct you. But most of the time, I will stay behind and observe."
Hearing that, Lana rolled her eyes. "So, did you find anything wrong?"
Axel’s expression finally became colder and more stern. "There are indeed many things you did wrong. First, go inside and sit down on the sofa."
Lana obediently walked over and sat down.
Axel went into the kitchen and began heating some water. As the faint sound of boiling water filled the quiet apartment, he continued speaking.
"Your first mistake was allowing your thoughts to appear directly on your face and then saying them aloud."
Lana nodded.
She knew he was right. She had spoken impulsively because she had been too excited by the absurdity of the situation and had reacted before thinking.
Axel continued, "If you dare to become an open book that anyone can easily read, then remember this. Multiple wolves will come after you."
Lana nodded again.
"However, you can also use that to your advantage. You can deliberately make yourself appear like an open book, allowing everyone to believe that they can read you easily while secretly hiding your true intentions."
Lana looked at Axel with a complicated expression. "I feel like I am becoming some kind of dirty schemer."
Axel laughed. "That is merely because you want to survive."
He poured the hot water into a cup and continued,
"Also, once you have made everyone fall into your trap, the next and most important thing is to maintain your distance. Do not make unnecessary friends, do not create unnecessary enemies, and stay far away from people who constantly give you information you never asked for."
Lana listened carefully.
"They will eventually use that information against you in one way or another."
Lana nodded. Axel’s expression became serious again.
"The most dangerous people out there are blind fools who possess enough power to cause serious damage."
He paused before continuing.
"Trust me, in this mystic cultivation competition, you will meet people who are incredibly intelligent but possess relatively lower levels of power. However, you will also meet people who are extremely foolish while possessing immense strength."
He looked directly at Lana.
"Those people are the real danger. They can act recklessly because they know there will always be someone powerful enough to clean up the mess they create. Their people are willing to tolerate their stupidity because they are afraid that if they push this powerful pawn too far, it might slip out of their control."
Lana nodded thoughtfully. By then, Axel had finished preparing her coffee. He carried the cup over and handed it to her.
"There are a few more things, Lana, and I have already told you most of them. But remember this above everything else."
Lana looked at him attentively. Axel’s gaze sharpened.
"The most important thing is that you should never let others see your back. Once you show or expose your back to them, they will definitely stab you. They will stab you so viciously that you will cry and beg for mercy, yet no one else will even be able to see where you are hurting."
Lana nodded solemnly and clenched her fist. "I suddenly feel like I am about to enter a battlefield."
Axel merely gave her a faint smile.
The next day, the first round of the International Mystic Cultivation Competition was finally held.
The first thing Lana noticed was that, unlike the domestic Mystic Cultivation Competition, this international competition was not being held on an ordinary open field. Instead, the entire event was taking place inside an enormous stadium.
The stadium was decorated almost entirely in shades of purple, while the audience filled the countless seats surrounding the arena.
Judges were seated in an elevated section directly in front of the competition grounds, and the entire venue seemed to glow beneath the carefully arranged lights.
Everything was decorated in shades of purple, white, and light pink, creating an unexpectedly elegant and almost dreamlike atmosphere.
For a moment, Lana genuinely wondered whether the entire venue had been designed by some high-end luxury firm.
’How can a cultivation competition look this beautiful?’
Soon, a host appeared on the stage.
The woman responsible for announcing the contestants and overseeing the proceedings was an internationally famous actress named Tia.
Tia smiled toward the audience and raised the microphone in her hand. "Hello, everyone."
Her red hair fell neatly to her shoulders, contrasting beautifully with the elegant white, body-fitting dress she wore.
She looked toward the audience before continuing. "Now, let us welcome this year’s participants one by one."
She began calling out the names of the contestants. Lana recognized almost all of them.
The first was Calix from Country J. The second was Julia, the young miss of Country F.
Then came Danny, the young master of Country K, followed by Raphael from Country T, Gabriel from Country H, and Sophia from Country N.
Finally, Tia called Lana’s name.
Lana looked around the arena and noticed that only a handful of countries had sent contestants.
’Are the other countries lacking suitable participants, or is the competition simply too difficult for them to enter?’
The judges looked over the contestants and smiled.
Tia continued, "Today will begin with the introduction round. Now, let us proceed to the first official round."
