Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes

Chapter 623: Natasha And Henry

She finally understood why Fay, even after losing to her, had still considered going against her again.

’So that was why. She was most likely being controlled.’

The realization sent a strange chill through her.

Lana sighed softly. "If that is the case, then Fay really is pitiful."

Betty lowered her gaze, her expression complicated. "Honestly, I don’t even know what to feel about this anymore."

Meanwhile, someone else was becoming increasingly furious, and they were none other than Grandpa Peterson and Grandma Peterson.

Grandpa Peterson’s name was Henry, while Grandma Peterson’s name was Natasha.

The two elderly people were lounging in their spacious living room. Henry slowly sipped from his cup before glancing toward Natasha.

"Have you received any contact from Axel?"

Natasha remained silent for a moment.

Henry sighed and placed his cup carefully on the table.

"That boy really did not need to go this far against her. I can understand that he was hurt, but why is he still thinking only about apologizing to Lana while continuing to hold a grudge against his own sister? How long does he intend to behave like this?"

Natasha shook her head, clearly displeased.

"Not only that, but he has even been ignoring his own sister. Is that something a respectable man should do? His sister only committed that mistake unintentionally. Was there really any need for him to hold such a grudge against her?"

Henry nodded slowly, his expression becoming darker.

"Indeed, that was incredibly thoughtless of him. Sometimes I genuinely wonder whether that girlfriend of his somehow used black magic on him."

Natasha raised an eyebrow at him.

Henry leaned back against the sofa and rubbed his forehead.

"Otherwise, why would he suddenly stop recognizing his own family? Why can’t he understand that what happened was simply a mistake? Why is he acting as though everyone around him deliberately betrayed him?"

Natasha paused for a moment.

"I think that as long as we can get his girlfriend back, we might be able to bring him around."

Hearing those words, Henry frowned deeply.

"If you truly think it is that easy, I would have done it a long time ago. However, there are no leads, and there are no people whom I can contact. The situation in that realm is so complicated that even if I were to conduct search operation there, I would still have a hard time finding anyone."

Natasha sighed and lowered her gaze. "I genuinely wonder if our son will remain this distant from us for the rest of our lives."

Both of them sighed heavily, their expressions filled with helplessness.

Although they looked like people in their early twenties, both Henry and Natasha had actually lived for more than seventy years.

Because they had cultivated for many years, their appearances had remained remarkably youthful despite their advanced age.

Their smooth skin and youthful features made it almost impossible for anyone unfamiliar with them to guess their true ages.

The two of them were still sitting in their living room when a maid suddenly approached them and respectfully said, "Young Miss Thessy has arrived."

The moment Henry and Natasha heard Thessy’s name, their expressions immediately brightened.

Thessy was their granddaughter, and she had always been incredibly precious to them. Neither of them could hide the affection they felt whenever her name was mentioned.

"Go and bring her inside," Natasha quickly instructed the maid.

The maid bowed before leaving.

A few moments later, Thessy walked into the living room. She was wearing a light baby-pink dress with a delicate black border around the edges.

Her long hair fell softly over her shoulders, and there was a faint smile on her face as she approached them.

When she saw her grandparents, her smile widened. "Grandma, Grandpa."

Natasha and Henry immediately smiled.

"Come here, come here," Natasha called, opening her arms toward her. "You look so thin. What has happened to you, child?"

Hearing that, Thessy smiled and shook her head. "Nothing has happened. I am living a good life."

Natasha smiled gently, but Henry continued staring at Thessy with a thoughtful gaze.

Something about her expression bothered him.

"Thessy, if there is something you want to tell us, then go ahead and tell us," Henry said.

"There is no need to hide anything from us. If you are suffering from any kind of mistreatment, just let us know."

His voice softened as he continued,

"You have been by our side for twenty years. You have always been affectionate toward us, constantly visiting us, caring about us, and messaging us regularly. There is no one more familiar to us than you."

Thessy lowered her head. Her fingers slowly curled into the fabric of her dress, and her eyes gradually turned red.

"No, truly, there is nothing wrong, Grandpa and Grandma," she whispered.

With that, she turned her face away, as though she were desperately trying to hide the pain in her expression.

However, that reaction only made Henry and Natasha more worried.

They exchanged a glance before turning their attention back to her.

"Thessy, what happened?" Natasha asked softly.

"Tell us what is troubling you," Henry added. "You do not have to carry it alone."

After being pressed several times, Thessy finally opened her mouth.

"All right," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "Since you are both insisting so much, then I have to tell you the truth."

She took a shaky breath before continuing. "In fact, I am not your real biological granddaughter."

Thessy then began explaining everything, carefully presenting herself as the victim of the situation.

When she finally finished, Natasha and Henry’s expressions darkened.

They exchanged a stunned look before both of them suddenly raised their voices.

"How dare Melody and Thompson treat you like this? Are they even thinking straight?"

Thessy lowered her head.

She deliberately omitted several important facts.

She did not mention that she had maliciously tried to harm Lana.

She also concealed the fact that she had known about Lana’s existence all along and had deliberately pretended otherwise.

She certainly did not tell them how she had repeatedly made Lana’s life difficult while hiding the truth from everyone around her.

Because she carefully left out every detail that could make her look guilty, Natasha and Henry naturally began to feel immense pity for her.

One after another, they started cursing Melody and Thompson, believing that they had cruelly abandoned an innocent girl.

Finally, Henry placed his hand gently on Thessy’s shoulder. "Do not worry, child. We will get justice for you."

Thessy immediately shook her head. "No, Grandpa. There is no need."

Her voice became soft and hesitant.

"I think Dad and Mom might even lie about the situation. Nowadays, they have started getting so close to Lana that I am beginning to wonder whether I have somehow become evil."

As she said those words, tears rolled down her cheeks, and she began to sob softly.

Natasha immediately pulled her into a hug.

"Child, do not blame yourself. You should blame those selfish parents of yours instead. Do not worry. I will make sure to teach them a proper lesson."

Thessy quickly shook her head while remaining in Natasha’s embrace.

"Please don’t. Rather, I think Lana is the one who is problematic, but I don’t want to involve her. She must have suffered a lot, which is why she is acting so resentfully. You know what, Grandpa and Grandma? Let’s just leave this matter here."

Natasha’s expression changed as she heard those words. "Lana, right?"

Her voice became colder. "It looks like she is the root cause of all this. I will deal with her first."

Thessy’s eyes widened. She quickly shook her head and put on an innocent expression.

"Grandma, what are you saying? You shouldn’t speak like that. What if Mom and Dad hear you?"

She deliberately made her voice tremble, as though she were frightened by the possibility.

However, instead of calming down, Natasha became even more furious. "They would dare?"

Her eyes narrowed dangerously. "I would like to see how they could possibly oppose me."

Henry, on the other hand, remained much calmer.

He slowly leaned back against the sofa, his eyes narrowing as he considered the situation.

"If we openly oppose that Lana girl, they will surely continue supporting her. Instead, we should ruin her reputation."

Thessy’s eyes brightened slightly. ’Grandpa really is clever.’

Henry had been like a cunning snake throughout his life.

He had climbed his way from the bottom to the top through patience, calculation, and careful manipulation.

If anyone knew how to deal with a person without blindly attacking them, it was certainly him.

’If they use one simple and carefully planned attack to completely ruin Lana’s reputation, Lana will have no choice but to hide in a corner and cry.’

As Thessy thought about it, she carefully concealed the satisfaction in her eyes and maintained an innocent expression.

"Would that really be okay?"

Henry smiled.

"You don’t need to worry. You told me that Lana is going to participate in the International Mystic Cultivator Competition, right?"
