Chapter 105: Azure Dragon Ascension
The murderous intent boiled over.
Images of his fallen brothers and the scene of Ye Qingfeng lying severely wounded flashed through Qing Long’s mind. His entire body trembled with fury, and his rage surged to the breaking point.
Cliff, the 50-year-old foreign oncologist sitting in the back seat, noticed the explosive energy radiating from Qing Long. He asked anxiously, “What’s going on?”
But Qing Long didn’t answer. He was consumed by wrath.
Instead of slowing down, he slammed his foot on the accelerator. The vehicle shot toward Shen Wuxiao and Jiang Huaiyue like a missile.
The two were walking side by side, immersed in each other’s company. Their attention was solely on one another. Qing Long knew—if he could hit them hard enough, he might severely injure them, then jump out and finish the job.
If he had to flee afterward, so be it. At least he’d have avenged his brothers.
“Oh my God!” Cliff screamed in terror as the car suddenly roared ahead. He grabbed the side handle in panic.
The business vehicle’s speedometer jumped to 104 km/h.
There was no time for Shen Wuxiao and Jiang Huaiyue to react fully. They hadn’t yet activated any energy shields—they would be seriously hurt if hit. Qing Long’s eyes were bloodshot. The thought of Shen Wuxiao targeting Ye Qingfeng’s daughter had pushed him over the edge.
Years of training and discipline from the Northern Territory collapsed in an instant, replaced by raw, unfiltered rage. He completely lost control.
The car roared forward, closing in on the couple.
But Shen Wuxiao and Jiang Huaiyue were far from ordinary.
They sensed the danger the moment the car neared.
Reacting instinctively, they sprang in opposite directions. They slapped the ground and used the force to leap left and right.
As Shen Wuxiao landed, his expression darkened. In a flash, he unleashed a terrifying surge of strength and leapt high into the air, stomping down violently onto the roof of the speeding vehicle.
BOOM!
The impact was monstrous. The four tires exploded instantly, the wheel hubs sank into the stone pavement, and the front of the car caved in.
Especially the area above the driver’s seat—it was completely flattened.
Qing Long was crushed against the steering wheel, screaming in agony.
Jiang Huaiyue dashed forward, jumped gracefully into the air, and in perfect sync, Shen Wuxiao extended his hand. She caught it mid-air, flipped over the wreckage, and delivered a vicious kick to the driver’s side door.
BANG!
The door burst open. Qing Long, already half-crushed, was slammed by the shockwave. Even the driver’s seat was dislodged, launching him several meters away.
He hit the ground with a sickening thud, skidding along the concrete and leaving a bloody trail behind.
The scene was total chaos.
The business car looked like a bomb had gone off inside. The engine was wrecked. Thick smoke poured from the front.
Cliff, in the back seat, had wet himself in fear.
His head was bleeding, but his injuries weren’t serious. As soon as he stumbled out and saw what had happened, he shrieked, “Oh my God!” and bolted, crawling and tumbling away, never looking back.
Shen Wuxiao didn’t care.
He was just an oncologist. If Ye Qingfeng couldn’t protect the man sent to save his daughter, what did it have to do with him?
They were the ones who drove the expert away.
Shen Wuxiao and Jiang Huaiyue walked slowly toward the injured Qing Long.
Their expressions were cold and emotionless as they stood over him.
Qing Long lay in a pitiful heap.
Shen Wuxiao’s stomp had crushed his collarbone and shattered parts of his neck. Jiang Huaiyue’s kick had fractured most of the bones on one side of his body.
“You were brave. You could’ve lived. Why throw it all away?” Shen Wuxiao said.
Qing Long was full of resentment. He wanted to yell, “Damn right I’m brave!” But the pain made even slight movement unbearable.
Through gritted teeth, he spat, “Shen Wuxiao, you won’t die a good death. Even if I become a ghost, I’ll haunt you. You’ll die horribly!”
Shen Wuxiao ignored the threat. He crouched down and looked at Qing Long calmly. “Qing Long, hello… goodbye.”
With that, he grabbed Qing Long by the collar and hurled him like a ragdoll into the side of the car.
BOOM!
Qing Long’s body embedded itself into the vehicle’s frame, sending the car skidding five or six meters.
He coughed up blood, bubbles frothing at his mouth. He was barely clinging to life.
Shen Wuxiao didn’t waste another second.
He raised his hand, flipped it, and the Duke of Destruction revolver spun smoothly into his grip.
Then he pulled the trigger.
BANG!
The gun roared. The bullet slammed into the wrecked vehicle.
A deafening explosion followed.
Flames shot into the sky. The frame of the car was blown eight meters into the air before crashing back down, twisted and mangled.
Qing Long lay lifeless inside, his body now part of the smoldering wreckage.
There were bystanders watching, but none dared to intervene.
Shen Wuxiao turned and shouted at them, “What are you staring at? Go help! Or do you want them burned to ashes?”
Then, as if nothing had happened, he bent down, picked up the flower bouquet he had dropped earlier, patted off the dust, and walked back toward the hospital with Jiang Huaiyue.
…
The explosion had been so loud that Ye Qingfeng heard it from inside the hospital.
At that moment, he had just finished a call with his mysterious backer, reporting the situation.
The big boss was very invested in Ye Qingfeng’s plight. After hearing what he had gone through, the boss immediately dispatched top-level help. Among them was one of his most trusted confidants.
They were close—less than forty minutes from Zhonghai.
The moment the call ended, Ye Qingfeng stepped out of the tea room and walked to the window.
What he saw made his vision go black.
That car…
Wasn’t that the business vehicle Qing Long had rented to pick up the oncologist?
His heart dropped. Thunder crashed in his head.
It was over.
He didn’t care about his own injuries. He sprinted toward the elevator, hands trembling as he hit the button repeatedly.
“Qing Long… please be safe… please…”
He tried to calm himself, but it was impossible. That explosion, that wreckage—how could anyone survive?
If something had happened to Qing Long, the oncologist might’ve been harmed too.
That was his daughter’s last hope.
He couldn’t lose both his brother and his daughter.
The elevator was still stuck on the second floor. None of the others were coming. Without hesitation, he turned and dashed toward the stairs.
He ran like mad.
At the same time, Shen Wuxiao and Jiang Huaiyue were coming up in the elevator.
Had Ye Qingfeng waited just a few seconds longer, they would have met face-to-face.
But he was already gone.
Ye Qingfeng reached the bottom in record time.
Outside, a crowd had gathered.
He rushed through the people, trembling, and when he saw the scene, he nearly broke down.
Qing Long was dead.
His face was unrecognizable, but Ye Qingfeng didn’t need to see his features to know.
He staggered forward, reaching out to touch him—but then suddenly turned toward the car wreckage, searching frantically.
There was nothing left.
“Was anyone else in the car?” he shouted at the crowd. “Was anyone else?!”
The crowd hesitated under his aggressive glare.
Finally, someone answered, “There was one more in the front seat, but he ran off. Only this one was left.”
“Ran off?” Ye Qingfeng’s voice cracked. “A foreigner? Around fifty years old?”
“Yes.”
Ye Qingfeng’s heart sank completely.
“AHHH!!!”
He screamed at the sky.
The past two days had broken him completely. Every brother he had brought with him was now gone.
He was alone.
And the expert he’d brought to save Tuantuan had fled in terror. How could he find him now?
“Oh God… why are you so cruel? Why are you so cruel to my daughter?”
He’d already lived like a rat, always hiding from pursuit.
He thought that five years of blood and tears had earned him a little hope.
But in the end… this was all that remained.
