Chapter 42: ELABORATE DISGUISE
WHILE waiting for Yun Dujun to return, Wonyoung sat in the living room and turned on the TV.
And then he got engrossed while watching the rerun of Yun Dujun’s old drama.
To be precise, it was the Alpha’s debut series.
It was called ’Small Circle.’
Dujun Sunbae-nim isn’t the lead actor there. In fact, he’s just one of the antagonists in the drama. Since it’s a detective series, the main character— an investigator— solves a different case every new episode. Sometimes, a case would take two to three episodes to be solved
Yun Dujun only appeared in three episodes.
But the Alpha took home all the ’Best New Actor’ awards that year for his performance in that drama. If Wonyoung remembered correctly, Yun Dujun received a total of 8 trophies. 13, if you counted the Popularity Awards.
Sunbae-nim was winning all those awards while I was suffering from morning sickness...
Anyways, Wonyoung’s memories of the past were faulty, but after watching a few episodes of Small Circle, he remembered why Yun Dujun won that many awards for his role in Small Circle.
Dujun Sunbae-nim plays the role of ’Hong Kyungho’— a famous pottery artist known for his modern interpretations of traditional onggi vessels. He looks innocent at first, but he’s actually a serial killer who burns his victims, and then uses their ashes to make pots.
The scene where Yun Dujun’s character burned himself instead of letting the detective catch him was the scene that secured the Alpha’s Best New Actor award at the time.
I still get goosebumps whenever I remember that particular scene.
In that scene, Yun Dujun laughed like the lunatic that he was while being consumed by the flame. The Alpha’s character was mocking the detective then, but you could see the pain in Yun Dujun’s eyes and voice as he was being burned to death.
It was a chilling performance from Yun Dujun, and it was how people knew he’d be an A-list actor someday.
And it did happen.
"Papa, where’s Daddy?"
Oh.
Wonyoung immediately turned off the TV.
After all, he didn’t want Yun Yuhyun to see the violent scene in the drama.
"Dujun Sunbae-nim just went out for a moment. He’ll be back soon," Wonyoung assured his biological son. "Are you hungry? Do you want to order room service?"
Yun Yuhyun just shook his head...
... and then he sat next to Wonyoung.
Oh.
Wonyoung suddenly felt awkward now that his son was sitting next to him.
The sofa was big, but Yun Yuhyun sat close to him— their arms almost touching.
And there goes this revolting feeling again.
Wonyoung tried to suppress it because he didn’t want to accidentally hurt Yun Yuhyun’s feelings again.
To distract himself, he started a small talk.
"Is An Baekya still asleep?"
"Yes, Papa," Yun Yuhyun answered while rubbing his eyes with the back of his hands. It was obvious that the child was fighting his sleepiness. "Papa?"
"Yeah?"
"I’m going to graduate from kindergarten next month."
"Congratulations in advance?"
"I want a gift, Papa."
Oh.
"Sure," Wonyoung answered confidently. He may not be as rich as Yun Dujun, but he still had a few billion won in his bank account. "What do you want as a gift, Yuhyun-ah?"
"Live with me and Daddy, Papa. Our house is big, so let’s all live together," Yun Yuhyun said shyly while looking up at Wonyoung with round, boba eyes. "Pretty please?"
Aigoo.
Who can resist those puppy-dog eyes?
***
WONYOUNG remembered how punctual Yun Dujun was when the Alpha returned to the penthouse suite 55 minutes later.
Is it really Sunbae-nim?
If he didn’t know better, he’d think that Yun Dujun had a female doppelganger that was born in Europe.
"How do I look, Hoobae-nim?"
"Pretty..."
Yeah, Wonyoung was mesmerized by Yun Dujun cross-dressing as a woman.
Sunbae-nim didn’t do it half-heartedly— he did it with so much care.
No one could tell that Yun Dujun was wearing a long, blonde wig.
Even the Alpha’s blue-gray contact lenses looked natural on him.
Sunbae-nim looks like a Caucasian woman.
It was amazing, really.
Dujun Sunbae-nim is pure Korean, but the way he did his make-up gave him a Wasian look? It suits his features.
Plus, Yun Dujun was also smart in choosing his outfit to conceal his body build.
The Alpha wore a leather puffer coat with a matching leather midi skirt and a pair of riding boots (no high-heels, thankfully).
To be fair, Sunbae-nim’s height will still gain attention.
But Wonyoung was confident that people wouldn’t see Yun Dujun this time— that they would only see a tall Caucasian woman and think ’she’ was in Korea for vacation.
Fortunately, foreigners are now common in our country.
Anyway, overall, Yun Dujun looked like a ’handsome pretty woman.’
Most female Alphas are described that way, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
In short, Yun Dujun had the vibes of a female Alpha.
"Your reaction is funny, Hoobae-nim," Yun Dujun commented. "It’s not like it’s your first time seeing me dressed like a woman."
Right?
In theatre, it was normal for men to play female roles and vice versa.
"Natalie."
"Hmm?"
"I just suddenly remembered the time you played the role of a female British spy in one of our performances. That character’s name was Natalie," Wonyoung said, his face beaming. "Sunbae-nim, can you still change your voice like you did when playing that role?"
"Like this?"
Not only did Yun Dujun change his voice to make it sound feminine, but he also spoke in fluent English— with a British accent, of course.
That made Wonyoung smile widely.
"Sunbae-nim, I’m really a big fan of yours."
"As a token of gratitude for supporting me as my fan, may I take you out on a date?"
Aigoo.
That was smooth.
Wonyoung, admittedly, was weak to Yun Dujun’s charm.
I agreed to have Sunbae-nim’s baby not only because I needed money at the time, but also because I wanted to sleep with someone as hot as him.
In short, he had always been attracted to the Alpha.
So, I easily get affected even though I know Dujun Sunbae-nim is just being polite.
"Sure, let’s go on a date, Sunbae-nim," Wonyoung said, acting casual while hoping that Yun Dujun wouldn’t notice his blush. "With the kids."
***
"DADDY, why are you dressed like a mommy? Are you working?"
Oh.
Wonyoung was wondering why Yun Yuhyun didn’t look surprised after seeing Yun Yuhyun dressed up like that.
Now he knew why.
My son is already used to his daddy playing different characters.
"No, this get-up isn’t for work," Yun Dujun explained while carrying Yun Yuhyun in his arms. "This is my disguise, so people won’t recognize me later. We’re going to the beach, remember?"
"But I don’t want to go to the beach, Daddy," Yun Yuhyun said bluntly. "Baekya and I will study his script together."
"What? This is the first time I’m hearing about this," Wonyoung said, confused. And then he looked at An Baekya. "I thought you wanted to see the beach at night, Baekya?"
"I’m sorry, Appa," An Baekya said, smiling apologetically at Wonyoung. "I want to play with Yuhyun here instead of going out."
Hmm?
Wonyoung had a bad feeling about this.
It felt like the kids were scheming something, but...
When did An Baekya and Yun Yuhyun become close enough to scheme together?
