I'll Raise My Future Omega Son-in-law

Chapter 174: TEST OF LUCK (2)

AS EXPECTED, Wonyoung got a call from Bae Gayoung’s phone shortly.

Finally.

He lifted his head and informed his in-laws.

"It’s from my cousin’s phone, Appa, Sister-in-law," Wonyoung said nervously. "I’ll pick it up now."

Han Hyunjin and Kang Chaein just nodded, keeping their mouths shut already.

Wonyoung nervously picked up the call. "Mingi-ya?"

"Is that how you greet your mother-in-law?"

Wonyoung’s eyes widened in shock when he recognized the voice, even if the woman didn’t call herself as such. "Kang Chunja?"

Han Hyunjin and Kang Chaein looked equally shocked, too.

"How dare you call your mother-in-law by name?"

"Why do you have this phone?" Wonyoung asked, annoyed. The nervousness he felt earlier was now replaced by anger. "You’re supposed to be locked up in the shrine!"

From the corner of his eye, he saw Han Hyunjin fiddling with his phone already.

Appa is probably checking if Kang Chaein has truly escaped from her confinement.

"Kang Chunja, how did you—"

"I didn’t leave the shrine, if that’s what you’re asking. If you want to know how those people ended up in my hands, then come here. I can’t wait to see you again, my dear son-in-law."

It was a predicament.

If it’s my mother-in-law, then we can’t send someone who slightly resembles me. It won’t work on that woman.

After all, Kang Chunja hated Wonyoung with a passion.

I just know that my mother-in-law would know it isn’t me at first glance.

"Kang Chunja, I don’t know what’s your intention for "bringing" Sung Mingi, Coach Kwon, and the kids there," Wonyoung said coldly. He was trying to act like he didn’t care about those people because he didn’t want his mother-in-law to know that she had the upper-hand in that ’negotiation.’ "But don’t forget that those people have families. They can report you for kidnapping—"

"Ah, so you don’t care about those people?"

"It would be a lie if I said I didn’t care about them. But I’m saying that I’m not the only person who can help them—"

"Then maybe you’ll be more inclined to accept my invitation if I tell you that your dear father-in-law is here, too."

"Abeoji is there?"

Han Hyunjin immediately raised his head, shocked.

"You might not believe a photo, so let’s switch to video call."

The call ended.

But, just a few moments later, a video call entered.

Of course, Wonyoung immediately answered it.

And then he gasped when he saw the video of Yun Hyuk, his Alpha father-in-law, unconscious on a mattress.

"Here’s today’s newspapers so you’d know this video isn’t fake or pre-recorded."

Wonyoung gasped when he saw the newspaper with that day’s date.

There was even a computer in the background, and a video of a live broadcast was playing.

Hence, it was proof that the video was being taken in real-time.

In short, his Alpha father-in-law was really kidnapped.

"Abeoji!"

Han Hyunjin couldn’t endure it longer.

His Omega father-in-law grabbed the phone from Wonyoung’s grasp.

"Kang Chunja, if you lay a hand on my husband, I will kill you."

Wonyoung flinched, finding his usually calm and gentle Omega father-in-law slightly scary at the moment.

"Ah, is that you, Han Hyunjin?"

"I’ll be coming with Bae Wonyoung whether you like it or not, Kang Chunja."

Oh, it was decided, then.

At least, I’ll be coming with Appa.

Anyway, the screen was soon occupied by Kang Chunja’s arrogant face.

"Yes, I’d love that— I’ll get rid of all the disgusting male Omegas in the world."

That was clearly a threat.

Wonyoung could tell that they would be walking straight into Kang Chunja’s trap, but it wasn’t like they had any other choice.

We need to save everyone— especially Abeoji.

"Kang Chunja, I’m warning you, don’t touch my husband—"

The video call ended, though.

Wonyoung could tell that his Han Hyunjin was about to throw his phone out of anger.

Thankfully, Kang Chaein spoke up.

Hence, his father-in-law got distracted and forgot about throwing Wonyoung’s phone.

Whew.

"Appa, I sent my husband a message. He said Abeoji did miss their meeting that morning, and even Abeoji’s chief secretary doesn’t seem to know where he has gone to," Kang Chaein said worriedly. "It seems like Abeoji has really been kidnapped."

Wonyoung shut his eyes tight.

I should get rid of Kang Chunja for real this time.

"YUN DUJUN, take this."

A gun?

Yun Dujun’s eyes widened in shock when Song Sihyuk casually handed a revolver gun to him.

He immediately looked over the chaebol’s shoulder to check on the children.

The kids were in the same room as them.

But, thankfully, the children were surrounded by nannies and bodyguards that Song Sihyuk personally trusted.

Hence, the kids didn’t see the gun.

"Why are you acting surprised as if it were your first time seeing a gun?" Song Sihyuk asked, scoffing. "Moreover, I’ve seen your last drama with my wife. You were a gun dealer there. So, why act shocked now?"

"Sihyuk-ssi, you know those aren’t real guns, don’t you?"

"Yeah, but you’re still the son of a billionaire. I’m sure your father and older brother own a gun or two, despite the strict gun control law in our country. Your family may not be on the same level as chaebols, but you have enough power to keep a few weapons in your arsenal without getting in trouble."

"Maybe that’s true for Abeoji and Hyung-nim, but not for me."

"Because you’re an illegitimate son?"

"Because I’m an actor," Yun Dujun corrected the chaebol. "In case I’m discovered in possession of a gun, my career would end instantly."

He didn’t mind retiring if he needed to protect his family.

But I don’t want to retire that way.

"Ah, I see," Song Sihyuk, obviously not caring about Yun Dujun’s worries. "Well, no one would know that I lent you a gun here. You need that if you want to protect the kids with your own hands."

Yun Dujun couldn’t deny that, so he quietly accepted the gun.

"The safety lock is still on," Song Sihyuk said. "Do you know how to use a real gun, kid?"

"I know— my father and older brother often bring me to a shooting range."

"Good," Song Sihyuk said, probably relieved that he didn’t have to spoon-feed Yun Dujun. "Anyway, even if you want to kill Lee Heeju, you can’t. I’ll make that bastard pay for sending rats to my villa, especially for hurting my precious son."

"Did the bastard confess already?"

"Yeah. Good thing I brought a truth serum with me."

Yun Dujun once thought that truth serums only worked in real life.

But the illegal pharma that Sihyuk-ssi owns has them— and they work for real.

"My subordinates have also caught the other rats that Lee Heeju sent to my villa," Song Sihyuk said, sneering. "I don’t know how he managed to penetrate my villa, but he’ll pay for it."

Yun Dujun raised an eyebrow. "Oh. So, you’ll directly help us now?"

"Of course. My son got hurt, so the old promise I made not to get directly involved in this fight is now void."

Oh.

So, Song Gunwoo getting hurt was a blessing in disguise.

Speaking of the chaebol kid...

"Sihyuk-ssi, your son has a great sense of smell," Yun Dujun commented, amazed. "I didn’t catch any scent from the food served to us."

But, apparently, the meals that were especially prepared for the kids were laced with a kind of sleeping pills that only work on Omegas and Alphas.

That detail was scary.

Because that means they know the kids have manifested already.

"My wife would hate to hear this, but that’s actually the reason I brought Song Gunwoo here," Song Sihyuk confessed with a dark look on his face. "My son has a very sensitive nose. He can detect drugs that not even a Hyper-Dominant Alpha like me could pick."

Like a drug-sniffing dog?

Of course, Yun Dujun knew better than joke about the Song Sihyuk’s one and only son.

"My wife will kill me for this," Song Sihyuk said, sighing while shaking his head. "Not only did I bring Gunwoo here to help me with my dirty work, but I also allowed my son to get hurt." The chaebol then grabbed Yun Dujun by the shoulders. "Kid, you absolutely help me explain to my wife."

"Uh, sure," Yun Dujun said since Song Sihyuk looked desperate. "But let’s focus on the matter at hand first, Sihyuk-ssi."

***

THEY GOT caught?

Lee Heeju clicked his tongue after reading the text message of the only person who managed to hide after Song Sihyuk caught the spies that he planted.

But it’s only a matter of time before he gets caught.

Worse, Song Sihyuk’s precious heir was hurt.

We’re dead— making an enemy out of Song Sihyuk-ssi is a big mistake.

"Hey, what’s happening?" Lee Heeju asked Shaman Ahra with furrowed brows. "You said planting spies in Song Sihyuk-ssi’s villa would give us a upper-hand. Heck, you even assured me that the spies wouldn’t be caught."

The plan was to make the children sleep early.

After that, the spies would kidnap the kids and bring them to his island.

The shaman insisted that they shouldn’t play fair because she was so sure that the other party would play dirty as well.

However...

"The rats were caught," Lee Heeju said, almost hissing. "And now Song Sihyuk is after our throats, too!"

"T-This shouldn’t be happening," Shaman Ahra said in a trembling voice, her nose bleeding. "My luck should have allowed all my plans to go smoothly. Bae Wonyoung isn’t here, so their side shouldn’t be this lucky. It seems like Bae Wonyoung transferred his tremendous luck to one of the kids."

Tsk.

Lee Heeju was still annoyed at how incompetent the shaman was.

But he stopped when he realized something vital.

"Bae Wonyoung lost his luck, then?" Lee Heeju asked, smiling. "So, Bae Wonyoung would be easy to kill now?"
