Chapter 747: Apparently Dragons Are Supplements
Garion’s grin slowly widened. "Possibly, huh?"
Rachel glanced at him. "Don’t look happy about that."
Garion coughed once. "I’m not happy. I’m just professionally interested."
Atlas stared at him blankly.
[That means happy.]
Garion ignored him and looked back at Varkhor. "So what kind of problem can affect several High Grade Worlds and the surrounding cosmic regions?"
The hall became heavier.
This time, even Aurelion did not mock him.
Abyron leaned forward slightly, his deep blue eyes cold. "A new race has appeared."
Garion blinked. "A new race?"
Selkhara’s voice was icy. "They call themselves Dragon Slayers."
The moment those words fell, the atmosphere around the table changed.
It was not fear, but hatred, a deep, burning hatred.
Garion rubbed his chin. "That name sounds very direct."
Verdroth smiled coldly. "Of course it is. Their path is exactly that absurd."
Nyxvar’s black-purple eyes narrowed. "They do not cultivate like normal lifeforms. They do not open [World Seeds] and [Inner Worlds] the same way we do."
Varkhor continued, "Their path uses dragons as cultivation resources."
Rachel’s expression changed slightly. "Uses dragons?"
Varkhor nodded. "Dragon blood, dragon bones, dragon hearts, dragon souls, dragon cores, dragon laws, even dragon bloodline fragments."
Aurelion’s golden aura flared. "They hunt our kind, refine our power, and use it to strengthen themselves."
His voice became colder. "At first, we thought they were only a small heretical group. We believed we could suppress them easily."
Abyron’s eyes darkened. "But for some unknown reason, they grew too fast."
Selkhara added, "Far too fast."
Varkhor’s molten gaze became serious. "Now, they have already produced beings they call First Rank Divine Dragon Slayers."
Garion raised an eyebrow. "First Rank Divine Dragon Slayer?"
Atlas’s tiny face turned thoughtful.
[That ranking system is different.]
Nyxvar nodded. "Exactly. Just like your path, they do not use the terms we normally use."
Garion leaned back. "Explain."
Varkhor tapped the table once, and a crimson projection appeared above it. "Their earliest stage is simply called Dragon Slayer. That should roughly correspond to Awakening Realm."
The projection shifted. "After that comes Star Dragon Slayer, equal to Star Realm."
Another change. "Then Celestial Dragon Slayer, similar to Celestial Realm."
The final image appeared. "Finally, Divine Dragon Slayer."
Garion’s eyes narrowed slightly. "And First Rank means?"
Aurelion answered coldly, "A First Rank Divine Dragon Slayer has power similar to a Low-Rank God."
Garion slowly nodded. "I see."
Rachel’s gaze became serious.
If these Dragon Slayers really grew by consuming dragons, then their existence was naturally opposed to every dragon clan.
Atlas crossed his small arms.
[A cultivation path that grows by turning a powerful race into resources. That is not just dangerous. That is scalable.]
Garion glanced at him. "Meaning?"
[Meaning if they keep hunting stronger dragons, they might keep producing stronger Dragon Slayers.]
The hall turned silent again.
---
Garion tapped his fingers against the table.
The sound was light, but in the silent hall, it felt strangely clear. "So basically..."
His purple-black-white eyes moved toward Volkrath. "Now I know why I was invited here."
Volkrath’s expression stiffened slightly.
Garion leaned back and pointed at himself with a grin. "You found me, the same kind of strange person as those Dragon Slayers. Someone who suddenly grew strong in a short time, walks a weird path, and doesn’t follow normal cultivation logic."
The Dragon Gods narrowed their eyes.
Garion continued casually, "And now you’re thinking of making me handle them, aren’t you?"
The hall became quiet.
Volkrath lowered his head slightly. "Yes, Sir Garion."
Atlas immediately turned toward him.
[At least he admitted it directly.]
Volkrath’s expression became more serious. "But that is not the only reason."
Garion’s grin faded slightly. "Oh?"
Volkrath looked at him carefully. "When I first fought you, I felt something strange."
Rachel’s pink-gold eyes sharpened. "What kind of strange?"
Volkrath hesitated for a moment, then said slowly, "For some reason, I feel there may be a connection between you and the dragon slayers."
The moment those words fell, Atlas’s tiny body froze, and her eyes widened.
Garion noticed it immediately and turned his gaze toward her.
The two stared at each other for a moment before finally nodding at the same time.
Garion turned back toward all the dragons and decided, "Let’s postpone the meeting for now."
The Dragon Gods immediately frowned.
Aurelion’s golden aura stirred. "You think you can decide that?"
Garion looked at him and smiled. "Yes."
Aurelion’s face darkened again.
Before he could speak, Varkhor raised one hand. "Wait."
His molten eyes remained fixed on Garion. "What do you want?"
Garion tapped the table once. "I want to see one of those Dragon Slayers first."
The hall grew heavier.
Garion continued, "Not hear reports. Not look at old records. I want to see one myself."
Nyxvar’s eyes narrowed. "Why?"
Garion glanced at Atlas, then back at them. "Because if there really is some connection between my path and theirs, then I need to confirm it with my own eyes."
Rachel nodded calmly. "That is reasonable."
Volkrath immediately said, "Actually, there is already a report."
Garion looked at him. "A fresh one?"
Volkrath nodded. "Yes. A First Rank Divine Dragon Slayer was recently sighted near the border on one of our High Grade Worlds."
The air around the table turned cold.
Abyron’s voice sank. "Which world?"
Volkrath answered seriously, "The [Ashen Scale Region]."
The moment Garion heard that, his grin returned. "The [Ashen Scale Region], huh?"
Volkrath nodded seriously. "Yes. The report only arrived shortly before the meeting began."
Garion slowly stood up from his chair. "Okay then. Let’s go."
Aurelion frowned. "Just like that?"
Garion looked at him and smiled. "Just like that."
Rachel also stood, her pink-gold eyes calm but sharp.
Atlas floated beside Garion with a helpless expression.
[Of course we are rushing straight toward the dangerous unknown Dragon Slayer.]
Garion waved one hand. "After I handle this one, we’ll continue the meeting."
Varkhor stared at him for a moment before slowly nodding. "Fine."
Nyxvar suddenly spoke. "Then use my private ship."
Garion turned toward him. "Your ship?"
Nyxvar raised one claw, and black-purple space power gathered around his fingers. "It will be faster than the other."
The next moment, he sliced open the air.
SHIIING!
Space split apart, revealing a massive black-purple voidship floating silently on the other side.
Its body was sleek and sharp, covered in spatial runes that pulsed like distant stars.
Nyxvar stepped toward the crack. "Come."
Garion grinned and followed. "Nice ride."
