Chapter 512: Fatherhood Into Brain Damage
The moment Mersha said it, the group fell silent. No one had expected the baby to be a girl.
Clara blinked, still trying to process it. "So... are you saying Master’s child is a girl?"
Valtor raised a brow, a faint grin forming. "Haha... really?"
Seira tilted her head slightly, thoughtful. "If it’s a girl... I can teach her something."
Dahlia didn’t say anything, but her arms tightened just a little, her gaze sharpening.
Mersha looked at all of them and gave a short nod. "Yeah, it is. And so... bye. I’ve got an experiment to run."
Without another word, she turned and walked off, leaving them behind in stunned silence.
A moment later, the door opened again. Garion stepped out, followed closely by Rachel.
In Rachel’s arms was a small, wrapped baby.
But what surprised them more wasn’t the child; it was Rachel.
She looked... fine. Healthy. Nothing like before.
Rachel noticed their stares and frowned slightly. "What? Did you expect me to stay in bed?"
Clara nodded immediately. "Yeah. You just gave birth, so of course it’s weird seeing you standing here."
Before Rachel could respond, Raviel hurried over, worry clear on her face. "Big sister, are you alright? Do you need anything?"
Rachel let out a small sigh, but there was a hint of amusement in it.
"I’m fine. Thanks to my unique physique, I recover fast. And now that the baby’s out, my recovery is even faster."
She lifted a hand and waved it lightly, as if brushing away their concern.
"So stop worrying about me. Come on... take a look at your new junior sister."
She adjusted the baby in her arms and held her up for them to see.
Clara rushed forward first, eyes shining. "Let me see!"
Valtor leaned in beside her. "Wow... she’s so small."
Rynar and Rynor stepped closer as well, peering curiously.
Seira followed quietly, her expression unchanged, though her eyes lingered on the baby a moment longer than usual.
Dahlia joined them too. As the big sister, she had to see her junior.
Clara leaned in closer, studying the baby’s face. "What’s her name?"
Rachel smiled softly, her expression gentler than before. "Giselle... Giselle Gravithor."
Clara blinked. "So she took Master’s family name, huh?"
Rachel nodded. "Yes. The Revalis clan already has many members... but Gravithor only had Garion."
The group exchanged glances, then slowly nodded. They understood what she meant.
Dahlia looked down at the baby again. "Giselle, huh..."
A small smirk formed on her lips.
"Welcome to the God Gym."
For a second, there was silence, then the others smiled, the tension easing as her words settled in.
---
Garion glanced at the crowd, gave a brief nod, then turned and started toward the room.
Rachel noticed him right away. She shifted Giselle slightly in her arms and called out, "You’re leaving? Going back to study it?"
Garion paused and looked over his shoulder. He nodded once. "Yeah."
He stepped closer and pointed gently at the baby in Rachel’s arms.
"Now that she’s safely born and you’ve recovered, I can return to studying the Fourth Realm."
Rachel watched him for a moment, adjusting the blanket around Giselle as the baby stirred softly.
A small smile crossed her face. "Alright, then. You can go. Just make sure you finish this as soon as possible."
She glanced down at Giselle, brushing a finger across her cheek. "We don’t have much time before the war begins."
Garion gave a firm nod. "Don’t worry. I’ll finish it as soon as I can."
His hand tightened into a fist at his side. The God Gym wouldn’t fall to something like those Chimeras. Not on his watch.
Rachel caught the look and let out a quiet breath, her smile returning. "Okay. Then go."
Garion nodded once more.
Without another word, he turned and headed back to his room, leaving Rachel and Giselle with the others.
---
Garion stepped back into his room and closed the door behind him.
The moment he was alone, he looked upward. "Atlas, come here."
[I’m here.]
Garion crossed his arms, shifting his weight slightly. "You know it’s time to give me the method. I’ve already completed the mission."
His eyes narrowed a little as he exhaled. "I already met my first child... after a long, painful week."
[Okay... your mission is confirmed complete. Wait a moment.]
[Do you want to obtain the method for converting mana into Divine Mana now?]
Garion smirked faintly. "Of course I do. You don’t need to ask. You already know that."
He raised his fist, clenching it tightly. "I didn’t go through all that for nothing."
[It’s just a formality. Now wait while I retrieve your reward.]
Garion gave a short nod and stood still, trying to stay patient.
He tapped his fingers lightly against his arm, then let out a quiet breath as the seconds stretched into minutes.
After a few minutes passed, something changed.
A sudden rush of new information began to flood his mind.
His eyes widened. "What the?!"
[I am now injecting the knowledge directly into your brain, host. Please endure it.]
The moment Atlas said that, Garion grabbed his head, staggering slightly. "What the hell is this pain?!"
The pain surged again, far worse than before. It wasn’t like anything he had ever experienced.
It felt sharp, overwhelming, and endless, as if his mind were being torn apart and rebuilt at the same time.
Garion clenched his teeth, his body trembling.
"How... how can this be worse than when my past life memories fused with this one?!"
[Of course it’s worse. This is Divine knowledge. It is impossible for a mortal like you to naturally comprehend it.]
[To force it into a mortal body, extreme pain is expected. Endure it if you wish to receive it.]
Garion dropped to one knee with a heavy thud, his hand still gripping his head. "Expected my ass!"
Sweat formed across his forehead, dripping down the side of his face.
His vision blurred, and he blinked hard, trying to stay conscious. "You could have warned me!"
[A warning would not reduce the pain, so I proceeded directly.]
Garion sucked in a sharp breath, his fingers digging into his scalp. "GODDAMMIT, ATLAS!"
His voice cracked, but he forced himself to stay quiet after that.
He bit down on the rest of his shout, shoulders shaking.
Outside the room were his wife and his newborn daughter.
He couldn’t let them hear him like this.
So all he could do... was endure.
