The third month of the eighteenth year of the Shunzhi reign.
The palace selection maidens entered the imperial palace.
Shen Qiuyue, daughter of the Shen family, was chosen and entered the inner court.
This journey had been full of twists and turns. Xie Huan had not exerted much effort from the shadows; he had originally made plans, but fearing he would draw unwanted attention, he largely let things take their course.
Shen Qiuyue’s beauty was flawless, her eyes brimming with tender warmth. Consort Rong, who presided over the selection, took one look at her face and figure and instantly recognized her as a seductress. A single look from the Shen family daughter hooked the emperor so thoroughly he could not tear his eyes away. Not daring to disobey His Majesty, Consort Rong had no choice but to admit her into the palace.
"Fox demon..."
Consort Rong thought to herself, a plan already forming in her mind.
Shen Qiuyue, however, took all of this in.
