Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off

Chapter 494: Even the Ancestors Didn’t See This Coming

Suddenly, Su Qinglan’s eyes fell on her father. Su Mingxuan was walking toward her with a happy expression on his face. Her eyes twinkled with joy.

She immediately rushed forward and hugged him tightly. "Father! I’m so happy to meet you!"

Su Mingxuan tried to form words, but nothing came out at first. His eyes turned misty as he held his precious daughter in his arms.

Only he knew how he had felt when she had disappeared.

When he saw her pale face lying motionless in her beast husband’s arms, his heart had almost broken. He had visited their house almost every day, hoping to see any sign of her waking up.

If anything had happened to her, he would have lost the will to continue living.

Now, seeing her happy and cheerful as she ran to him, his entire body shuddered with happiness and emotion. He could barely control it.

If not for all the tribe members surrounding them, he really wanted to break down in tears in front of his daughter.

Even though he tried hard to hold back, he hugged her back tightly and said in a thick voice, "Father is happy that you are back." He patted her head lovingly.

Su Qinglan mumbled softly against his chest, "Father, I missed you so much."

Su Mingxuan could not stop his tears from forming. He teased her gently, "You have grown so big, but you are still clinging to your father. Are you not afraid that the other females will laugh at you?"

Su Qinglan pouted cutely and looked up at him. "Who is going to laugh at me? There is no one. Only you are laughing at me!"

Su Mingxuan laughed heartily, his doting expression clear on his face. "Well, well... who dares to laugh at my daughter? I will definitely beat them."

He glanced at her husbands and added, "And if not me, you have plenty of powerful husbands. They would definitely beat them for you."

Su Qinglan blushed and complained, "Why is Father always hell-bent on teasing me?"

To distract him, she quickly thrust her three cubs into his arms. "Don’t tease me anymore. Look at your grandchildren they have grown so fat that I can hardly carry them!"

Su Mingxuan laughed even louder. "As long as their grandfather is still alive, I will carry them until my death!"

He didn’t even hesitate...he scooped up Xiao Yi and tossed him straight into the air like a sack of rice.

"Wheeeeeee!"

Xiao Yi shrieked in pure delight. His little tiger tail whipped around like a wildly out-of-control feather duster as he soared up and came down safely into his grandfather’s arms.

"Again! Again!" his entire body seemed to scream.

Xiao Er’s eyes lit up instantly. Not one to be left behind, he grabbed his grandfather’s leg with both tiny paws and shook it with all his might.

"Me! Me! I also want flying!"

Su Mingxuan nearly lost his balance from the enthusiastic tugging. "Alright, alright! One at a time...this old man only has two arms, not eight!"

Meanwhile, Xiao San was having a full internal crisis.

Curled in Su Mingxuan’s arm, the tiny snake cub trembled like a leaf in a storm. His little body stiffened, his green eyes wide with horror as he watched his siblings being thrown into the sky like festival lanterns.

His thoughts were very simple:

This is it. This is how I die.

I will fly up... and never come back...

My body is small... what if I get lost mid-air?!

He immediately wrapped himself tighter around Su Mingxuan’s arm like a desperate bracelet that refused to be taken off.

Xuan Long noticed and instantly smirked. "Oh? Afraid?" he said, clearly enjoying himself far too much.

Before Xiao San could even protest (not that he had the courage), Xuan Long stepped forward, plucked him away, and....

Whoosh!

Up he went.

"HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSS—!!!"

The scream that came out of Xiao San could have scared ten beasts and three hunters.

In mid-air, in sheer panic, the tiny snake forgot everything...its dignity, identity and even species.

Poof!

He turned into a chubby human baby just like that.

Xuan Long caught him smoothly, barely even blinking, though the corners of his lips twitched. He patted the baby’s back, utterly amused.

"Such a coward. Why are you screaming? It’s not like I threw you off a cliff."

Xiao San, now in baby form, clung to him with teary eyes, looking like he had just survived the end of the world.

Meanwhile, Su Mingxuan had completely stopped functioning. His brain lagged as he couldn’t believe his eyes.

"I...he...this...what just..." he stammered, staring at the baby like he had just witnessed a miracle... or a disaster... or both.

He leaned closer, eyes wide. "He... turned... in the air?!"

But too late, the baby was already there, blinking innocently with big green eyes as if nothing dramatic had just happened.

"Gra... gra... gran..." Xiao San struggled, his tiny mouth working hard, but the word was just too long. It took immense effort, like climbing a mountain made of words.

"Grand... father..."

Su Mingxuan completely froze.

Then, his entire face lit up like someone had just handed him the greatest treasure in the world.

"My grandson called me grandfather!" he nearly shouted, completely forgetting all logic and shock. "Did you hear that? He called me grandfather!"

Around them, even the tribesmen were stunned. How could such a small cub turn into a human so soon? He wasn’t even a year old."

Su Mingxuan was still basking in pure grandfatherly bliss, lovingly staring at Xiao San as if the child had just invented the word "grandfather" specifically for him.

And then the two tiger cubs in his arms started... wiggling. At first, it was just a little movement. Then more and more...

Poof!

Gone were the fluffy tiger cubs.

In their place? Two chubby human babies appear in his arms.

Su Mingxuan’s eyes widened so much it looked like they might actually fall out and roll away.

His entire body froze. If someone pushed him right now, he would’ve tipped over like a wooden board.

His mouth slowly opened, but no sound came out.

His brain was screaming: One turned into a baby... fine... I accepted it... I adapted... I survived...BUT NOW TWO MORE?! TOGETHER?! IN MY ARMS?!

He looked down. Was he the most blessed grandfather in the entire beast world?

The two little culprits, however, looked extremely pleased with themselves.

Xiao Yi puffed out his tiny chest like he had just achieved something legendary.

"In case you didn’t notice," his whole expression said. Then, in a proud baby voice, he declared, "We can do it too!"

Xiao Er nodded enthusiastically beside him, looking like a loyal accomplice who had just helped commit a very successful crime.

Su Mingxuan finally found his voice...

"...Ah."

"...Ah?!"

He clutched the two babies tighter, as if afraid they might transform into something else next. "You...you...you...when...how...WHY are all of you turning into babies?!"

"Is transforming into humans this easy now? Can it be done while eating? While playing? While... blinking?!" Su Mingxuan was deeply concerned.

He clearly remembered his own first transformation, it was painful, full of tears and emotional damage. He had cried so much that day he was pretty sure even the ancestors heard him.

And these little cubs? He looked down at the two babies in his arms. They were sparkling and kicking their tiny legs, grinning like they had just unlocked a fun new game feature.
