Chapter 380: Peg Down or Two
Ruan Chanchan was speechless. She looked at the little fairy and asked, "Am I not supposed to see you?"
"Of course not! You are a she-beast; how can you, with your mere energy, see me?" the little fairy snorted. She crossed her arms and looked at Ruan Chanchan with a hint of disdain in her eyes. But then she lowered her head and narrowed her eyes. "Oh, it seems like you are something different. Your soul is..." The little fairy continued to get closer and closer until her little face was almost pressing against Ruan Chanchan’s eyes.
Seeing this, Ruan Chanchan immediately backed down. She was worried that the little fairy would press herself against her eyeball. "What...what are you trying to do?"
"It’s nothing," said the little one. "I am Little Green, by the way."
Ruan Chanchan was even more stunned by the sudden introduction, but she still nodded and replied, "I am Ruan Chanchan." She paused and then asked, "Anyway, can I ask why you are here?"
Little Green harumphed as she looked at the meat pies that Ruan Chanchan had cooked. She did not say anything, but her eyes betrayed what she desired. Seeing this, Ruan Chanchan pursed her lips and then cut off a piece of the meat pie that she had prepared and handed Little Green.
As soon as Little Green saw the piece of meat pie, her eyes lit up, and she took it from Ruan Chanchan without much hesitation.
"Oh my, oh my, what is this? I have never eaten something this good!" Little Green exclaimed as she zoomed around the cave. She looked quite intoxicated, making Ruan Chanchan worry that maybe she might have overstimulated the little one. Fortunately, before she could start worrying, Little Green returned to normal. "This is really, really good. Human, how did you make it?"
"With the right ingredients." Ruan Chanchan did not want to entangle with the little fairy. She had no idea what this thing was and how it could affect her.
’You don’t need to worry too much,’ said Xiao Xi. This is just a little elf; she is like the guardian spirit of the forest around your tribe. I think she came out of her zone after following you curiously. After all, your spiritual energy is not something that can be ignored.
Ruan Chanchan glanced at Little Green and nodded. Though the spirit did seem a bit chaotic, she did not seem evil.

Ruan Chanchan raised her head and snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Ruan Zeqiu’s voice. She thought that her brother would question her about the little fairy, but to her surprise, he did not even look at Little Green. Instead, he walked right past her and hurried over to where Ruan Chanchan was sitting. "Brother Daiyu said that you have cooked something nice for us."
"Yeah..." Ruan Chanchan was still reeling from the shock that Ruan Zeqiu could not see Little Green when she heard Little Green say, "There is no need to be so shocked. No one can see me. If you were not a special case, then even you would not be able to see me."
Ruan Chanchan glanced at the little one and then turned to look at Ruan Zeqiu. She calmly handed him a bowl and said, "There is no need to jump around. Here, eat some porridge. I also made some soup and meat pies; you will certainly like them." Because Ruan Chanchan knew that the beastmer like to eat meat, she had added meat to every dish. Even the egg drop soup contained some shredded pork.
"Meat?" Ruan Zeqiu’s eyes started to shine when he heard that there was meat to eat; he did not hold back and started eating the meat pies as well as the porridge. "Delicious, delicious, sister, did you learn some other skills when you were at the killer whale tribe? How come your cooking became even more delicious?"
When Xie Daiyu arrived with the Yuan family. He walked over to where Ruan Chanchan was sitting and sat down next to her with his parents. "It seemed like you had prepared some feast."
Ruan Chanchan simply smiled and served the meal to Xie Daiyu and the rest. She had not held back when adding the meat in the pies; thus, they easily became everyone’s favourite, even the priestess had five or six of them.
"These are really good," praised Yuan Ni. Thinking about how no one in the tribe could eat something so good but them, he was quite smug. Sure enough, following Ruan Chanchan was the right thing to do. As for the elders, they were nothing but fools.

"You mean to say that Ruan Chanchan still has some meat?" Elder Qian asked with a frown.
"Yes, I saw it with my own eyes. They were eating something called ’pies’, and from the scent of them, those pies seemed really delicious." Her aide replied while trying to suppress the groan that was almost about to flow out of her lips. She really wanted to eat those pies as well, but she knew that the chief was still upset with the elders. If she were to ask for those meat pies, then the chief would chase after her.

Elder Qian slammed her fist onto the ground and snarled, "This is why I told everyone that it was necessary to tamper with Ruan Chanchan’s arrogance. Look at this; she had something good to eat, but she did not share it with the elders and ate it all on her own. That woman needs to be severely punished! In other tribes, the elders are treated with respect and kindness. They are served the finest food and clothing, but in her tribe? Humph, they are given the worst possible things. They really needed to bring some people a peg down or two, or else she was worried that these people would dance on their heads and show their might in front of them!
