Chapter 97: Authors Note
Hello Everyone đ Your Lazy and Troublesome Author Here.
Concerning this authorâs note, there is not really any big news. I just wanted to talk with my readers. I was thinking of writing on the reviews, but then I realized what I was going to say would take a while and be very long (^^).
Thank you all for reading my story and for continuing to be by my side even if Iâm not too constant with the story updates because of the time difference in our country, so some updates come late, and as a busy person, I canât update twice per day, so sometimes I do one, but you all have stayed with me till now, for which I am very grateful.
This is my first-ever story on NovelFire, like, not likely the first, but first enough to get a contract. Most of the stories I write I never get past 20 Chapters because of the constant rejections. Some people may say move on, there are other places outside that you can upload your book to, but I never did. For them, NovelFire may just be a place for money, and when it hits hard, they run away or abandon their book, but I would do no such thing because NovelFire isnât just a place for me; itâs where I first started my writing journey and also what brought my love for writing and novels, so even if my story doesnât meet the expectations of many or even if it flunks, I would continue and finish it.
This story is different from most, as itâs a beginnerâs story; it doesnât lean into the deep world-building or action-packed fighting or systems and quest completion as most web novel male-oriented stories do. Itâs more tacky, as one of my readers pointed out; the planning of the villains lacks power and emotion, and some side characters donât get any depth to them, but all these can be fixed as the story goes on. The only thing I want to say is donât lose faith in the story, even when it starts feeling like the author doesnât even love their story. As a first book, I have never gotten the opportunity to write a book with full-blown world-building or even character development. If someone hadnât pointed that out to me, I would have continued like a stray puppy. The story isnât action-packed or fantasy and monsters vivid; itâs more down-to-earth with some aspects of action and adventure. Itâs not something that would have constant face-slapping or leveling up like crazy. Even though Luther is someone who is blessed with the ability to wield magic without a medium, it doesnât mean heâs omnipotent and all-powerful; he has setbacks, as every character must grow into their role.
Why is a story written? Is it for the joy of writing or for the money?. Itâs a question I have asked myself and many authors, but for me itâs the joy of writing. I have always loved reading novels, mostly action and fantasy with a little hint of illness. Donât ask me why; I wonât explain.
But it has brought a wider feeling to having the flow of your world in your hand, and for any reader that is also a writer, a bow to you, eh! Itâs not easy to write, but it brings joy to the readers, which I hope my story will bring to you all. For a writer, their readers are their gems because your presence is what motivates them to continue pushing forward even a little bit; one comment can stop a writer from hitting the delete button or putting the book on hold and never coming back. It gives them joy and happiness to know that there are still people out there interested and invested in your story, constantly waiting and checking back for updates. You yourself as a reader may not feel it; itâs just scrolling through novels to see which one you like, either adding it to your collection or forgetting it completely, but for us writers, especially the newbies like me. We cling to those comments, likes, and reviews. Hell! Even criticism is welcomed. It fuels our creativity and our passion to continue pushing on and not letting our readers down.
Which returns me to this story: everyone has expectations, everyone has a reason they decided to pick the novel and read it, so thereâs no way to know every readerâs mindset. Some may just be trying it out and seeing where it goes; some are finding something engaging, while others just see it as a means to pass time, but for any reason, it is happily welcome. Luther is a sarcastic person, but his sarcasm is actually a way of releasing himself from the worldâs shenanigans and the foolproof realization that he is in a book and not a new world.
Well, it is a new world, just in a book. Now, to further explain this novel,we will soon need to enter into the main book story.
Yes...
Heâs in a book.
You didnât really forget, did you?
Well, weâve been building up the Chapter and scenes to enter into the main book story as they revolve around Aithur and Liliana, with Luther likely being in the backseat and riding shotgun.
How do you think a book will progress when thereâs an anomaly in it, e.g., Luther?
Will the book still go exactly how itâs supposed to be, or will it follow another direction?
Well, continue following the book, and we may just find out.
But donât be mad when it happens; thatâs the joy of a storyâit builds up anticipation.
I hope I didnât yap so much and get some readers angry, but since I havenât gotten Discord, this is how Iâll be interacting with my readers from time to time. Thank you for your time, love, and dedication to my story. It means a lot to me (^^).
I wanted to make it a 500 word but NovelFire would not allow me to write below 1000 (;~;)
