Chapter 453: Chaos Stones
Naledi had enveloped both of them with her space law preventing them from being separated.
When they appeared inside the chaos dimension they appeared together, looking around there was nobody else around them.
Ved studied this chaos dimension, it looked hard to describe, the entire dimension was a shade of crimson.
There wasn’t any large piece of land but there were floating islands made of strange material.
The islands were constantly changing form from something looking solid to a cloud and sometimes a river.
Ved wasn’t sure if they could even land on them or if it would be dangerous to. " Fly to your left."
Manas told him, he grabbed Naledi and flew left, he had to lower his speed after crashing on an object.
It was a massive pink crystal that materialised in front of him out of nowhere catching him off guard.
After what felt like hours they finally came across something that looked solid, it was a massive crystal island.
The island was only about 15 kilometres across but unlike the other islands, it wasn’t constantly changing form.
It had a reddish colour almost like a transparent red crystal. They landed and it felt cold to the touch.
As soon as they landed, they looked at each other, " Did you feel it?" Naledi asked and he nodded.
Deep inside him, his mostly dormant origin bloodline moved as if drawn by something in this island.
They followed the feeling and found themselves standing in front of a cave entrance leading deeper into the crystal Islands core.
Ved was too large to get through so he had to take his humanoid form, they went inside and flew down.
Calling it a cave was not accurate, it was more of a slanted hole falling straight to the Island’s core.
Inside the core there was an empty space about a few hundred metres across and 50 metres tall.
Inside this cavern, there were other red crystals but these ones were darker looking closer to a dark crimson metal.
These were the things attracting thryr bloodlines here. ’ Manas what are those?’ he couldn’t help but ask.
" Chaos stones, they’re more pure than what you were sent here to gather, their purity only falls short of primal chaos."
’ What? I thought this was primal chaos.’ Ved was confused, he believed they were here to gather primal chaos.
So why would Manas say these rocks are more pure than what they were sent here to gather?
Fortunately Manas was kind enough to explain, " Primal Chaos is the true chaos beyond origin.
I won’t get into details but when a universe is created, the singularity is constructed with primal chaos.
The primal chaos is converted into the four supreme laws which brings forth the birth of a universe.
Then there are residues but these residues are diluted versions of the primal chaos which the heavens use to make the others laws.
The thing you were sent here to find are those residues and so are these stones but they’re more condensed.
While they are a lesser version of primal chaos, they don’t count as primal chaos, take them."
Ved hesitated, they were clearly told not to touch the chaos with their bodies or they would die.
But he trusted Manas so he bent down and picked the red rock about the size of a human fist.
Naledi panicked when she saw that but he reassured her. " Tell that little girl to take one as well, it will be good for her."
He informed Naledi and she followed him, as soon as he touched the stone the origin blood inside him boiled.
" Your origin blood is the true source of the law of creation and destruction. The reason those two laws cannot be comprehended by others is simple.
They don’t exist, what people call supreme laws are merely origin and the are only four of them forming a pair.
Creation and destruction as a pair and space and time as another, besides... Anyways, absorb the chaos, you origin can handle it."
He knew Manas wouldn’t do anything to hurt him so he sat cross legged and tried to absorb the energy inside the stone.
Then it dawned on him, he has never done this before, he had absolutely no idea how to absorb external energy like the others.
Even when the absorbed mana in the mystic realm, he would just drink from the mana lake.
So he did the only thing he knew best, he ate the stone and a flood of chaotic energy surged inside him.
A two coloured drop of black and white surged deep within his soul rising to meet this energy.
It drank the energy up like a dying camel, then released another flood of energy to his body and soul.
His body and soul grew stronger with each passing moment but above all that he could feel his comprehension of his two laws growing.
However he met a problem, he was comprehending his laws faster than his soul can withstand it.
A heavy burden was placed on his soul so much that he felt it would break, the world seemed to blur to him.
Pain, mind numbing pain assaulted all of his senses at once and he almost blacked out, the energy strengthening his body and soul became too much to bear.
His skin cracked and his bones were crushed to dust, his regeneration trait upgraded with the law of life took action.
It tried to mend his body but no matter how it tried, his body was not healing or at least it was breaking faster than it was healing.
This terrified Ved, for the first time he genuinely believed he was going to die, his law avatar bloomed above him.
Waves of life origin descended upon him increasing the strength of his regeneration in tandem with his law of life.
" You stupid boy, why would you eat it, chaos is too violent and strong for you to withstand, at this rate you’ll really die.
I’ll suppress the energy for you but that will temporarily put me out." The surging energy seemed to calmed down.
Manas suppressed it only allowing an amount he could handle. This situation made him realise something.
His comprehension of his supreme laws did not come from the universe like his other laws.
They came from within him, he was comprehending his own bloodline and this realisation further increased his comprehension.
’ Manas?’ he called out but there was no answer, Ved felt, cold like a child who just discovered their parents were not there.
He almost started panicking then noticed Naledi floating in front of him with a worried expression.
He didn’t even realise he had returned to his full form.
