Two or three other Rank Four alien entities—mercenaries the federation had recruited for the Black Tide Plane campaign—took one look at the situation and began thinking about slipping away.
They had no desire to side with the Magus Civilization, nor did they plan to betray the Gallant Federation. They only wanted to live.
