Chapter 1172: Auctioned Slave
Lady Bev, the peak Rank Seven soul overmage, did not linger in her thoughts for long.
Since the council had just finished discussing the Titanfangs of Nexon, it was only natural for everyone present to be reminded of another trap set by the Magus Civilization.
To be honest, that trap was a major gamble.
When dealing with that particular world civilization, even the top brass of Magus World could not fully guarantee loyalty on the other side.
If things went south, it could become one of the greatest failures in the alliance’s history.
Not only would the Magus Civilization be forced into a passive position, but the consequences could ripple across the future civilization war, shifting the balance in unexpected ways.
Thinking along the same lines, Hudson, a steady and dependable Rank Seven knight from the Byrne Empire, turned to Bev and asked, “Can we really trust the Netherworld creatures? Don’t forget... we fought a major war with them in the past. On top of that, the Magus Civilization is kind of responsible for the deaths of their leader’s two older brothers.”
Hudson’s concern echoed the unspoken thoughts of most powerhouses in the room.
In truth, the only reason that risky plan had advanced at all was because a small group of Magus World leaders, led by Bev, had pushed it forward.
It was clear that Bev and her group placed a great deal of trust in Naeverynk’s loyalty.
In response to Hudson’s concern, Bev smiled and assured, “There’s no need to doubt Netherworld’s loyalty. After all, my father had personally raised Naeverynk to an overlord before he left.”
“As for his two brothers, they fell to the Brain Eater Civilization, not us. My father already avenged them. And in recent years, the Magus Civilization has treated the Netherworld fairly. I believe Naeverynk will make the right choice,” she said.
