Ch. 119.2 - A Request from Miyabi-senpai Pt2
“Heh. Whoever’s posting stuff like this on the anonymous school forum must be really bored… I can’t even be bothered to deal with people who don’t have the guts to confront me face to face.”
Harutaki sneered, speaking with an air of indifference.
Yeah right… go to hell, you bastard who posted that!
If he ever found out who it was, he’d definitely show them what “a scumbags methods” really meant.
Ever since last month’s incident involving rumors and online harassment on the school’s anonymous forum, nearly every post about Harutaki revolved around him being a “jerk” and his relationship scandals.
The topics weren’t particularly serious—more like gossip tabloids following celebrity idols.
Things like which girl he had gotten closer to lately, or how Nogami had dragged him into some hidden corner to “train him like a dog,” or even rumors about how many girls he had already slept with.
The post currently displayed on Miyabi’s phone was no different—most of the replies were just people chiming in for fun, though there were plenty of insults and mockery mixed in as well.
【卍, scary as hell lol】
【Good thing I just broke up with my girlfriend yesterday lol】
【Heard he skipped class to hook up with some hot girl. If the “Queen” finds out, he’s gonna get seriously trained XD】
【They should get a few muscular guys from the wrestling club to “fix” him so he loses interest in girls forever (lol)】
【Heh heh heh, no way! That’d make things even more dangerous for us lol】
【God wouldn’t just lay hands on girls like that!】
…Huh?
Harutaki’s eyes landed on the anonymous ID of that last reply—
[Full Speed Ahead]
Yeah, that’s definitely Tazaki’s account.
Even though his otaku desk mate was trying to speak up for him, most of the replies below were still mocking. On top of that, he’d somehow picked up yet another nickname: “God-Tier Scumbag.”
Tazaki had clearly meant well… and completely made things worse.
“I didn’t think you’d browse a messy forum like this, Senpai.”
Harutaki clicked his tongue, sounding a bit helpless.
Still, he figured it didn’t matter. Miyabi-senpai wasn’t the type to believe whatever she heard, so there was no need to worry about his image in her eyes taking a hit.
“The ‘messy forum’ you speak of is actually an essential tool many ordinary students rely on.”
Noticing his confusion, Miyabi explained in her usual calm, detached tone.
“While the school’s anonymous forum does contain its fair share of filth, it also reflects the real atmosphere within the school. Students who struggle to communicate or lack their own social circles can observe the trends and tone of the forum to quickly notice and correct behaviors that make them stand out in a bad way. Of course, some people also use it to find trending topics and interesting stories to keep conversations going.”
So even a top-tier school couldn’t avoid this kind of thing…
Harutaki let out a quiet sigh. What a hassle.
“As for ‘atmosphere,’ you can just kick it aside.”
“Still clinging to your sixteen-year-old hot-blooded spirit?”
“I plan to carry it on properly. After all, it’s the ‘passion’ you gave me, Senpai.”
“Hot-blooded boys aren’t exactly in fashion these days.”
Perhaps worried he might act recklessly on impulse, Miyabi poured cold water over his enthusiasm.
“That’s fine. I’m a hot-blooded scumbag.”
“…That really does sound like something you’d say.”
Harutaki had heard that kind of comment before—from Chouko.
He found himself wondering what exactly that meant.
What kind of person was he in Miyabi-senpai’s eyes?
And in Chouko’s?
“Anyway… do you still remember the favor I asked of you, Hoshikawa-kun?”
“You mean pursuing my dream of building a harem?”
“……”
“Ahem—j-just kidding. I remember clearly. I’ll definitely tell you everything that happened over these three days.”
Receiving a cold glance, Harutaki hurriedly corrected himself.
Then, shameless as ever, he added:
“I want a lap pillow.”
“Please don’t be so childish. You’re almost seventeen.”
“I really want a lap pillow!”
“That’s not what your ‘hot-blooded spirit’ is for.”
“…Haa…”
The girl let out a soft sigh, pressing her thin lips together—perhaps the most emotion she would show.
She closed the book she’d been reading, then lightly patted her thighs twice, as if beckoning a cat to come over.
Beneath the smooth fabric of her uniform skirt were soft, elastic thighs. Lying on his side, Harutaki gazed at the honey-colored sky reflected in the gently flowing stream.
“To start with…”
Just as he began, a thought suddenly struck him—something important.
He quickly apologized to Miyabi, then took out his phone, unlocked it, and sent a message to Chouko on LINE.
Harutaki: [cat peeking] — Read
Chouko must have been on her phone, because she replied almost instantly.
Chouko: [cat with a question mark] — Read
He explained to her about the guidance and help Miyabi-senpai had given him, then mentioned her request, asking whether she was okay with him sharing their story.
Chouko: You already agreed to her, didn’t you! And besides, you’re the main character, not me [grumpy cat] — Read
Looks like she agreed.
After sending a quick “thanks,” he put his phone away.
“Sorry… asking about something involving your privacy like that—it was too much of a request.”
“I already agreed to your request that day, Senpai. That responsibility is on me now.”
Harutaki hadn’t expected Miyabi to apologize. She must have seen his conversation with Chouko from above.
Back then, he had been too focused on figuring out how to bring Chouko back to Tokyo, and hadn’t thought the request through properly. But…
Just as Chouko said, he was the main character here—Harutaki. As long as he only told his own side of the story, it should be fine.
“Let me start with the morning I went to Tokyo Station to find Chouko.”
He began with what he did at the station.
“I can’t believe you actually pulled something like that.”
“I am Hoshikawa Harutaki.”
“That wasn’t a compliment.”
Next, he explained how he had already predicted his inevitable failure before taking action, and how things unfolded exactly as expected.
“A wise decision.”
“I thought so too.”
Thinking back to how Chouko’s mother had treated him, he added a bit more, hoping to hear Miyabi’s opinion.
“Considering how much you resemble a ‘scumbag,’ it’s only natural any girl’s parents would be concerned.”
He noticed she used “resemble” rather than stating it outright, but it was too awkward to press further, so he continued.
“Asama-sensei really is a good teacher… if only he could fix some of his quirks.”
“You know Asama-sensei, Senpai?”
“As a capable teacher, he also handles career guidance for third-year students.”
Then came the part about going to Kyoto and his first forced entry into Shihou’s family estate.
“…I thought you’d hesitate longer. I didn’t expect you to use such a reckless method.”
Miyabi fell silent for a moment before speaking. Even she seemed a bit surprised by his actions.
“Sixteen-year-old passion.”
“I… suppose so.”
Then came the second break-in.
“You really are an interesting person.”
“Can I take that as a compliment?”
“Barely.”
“Then I’ll take it. Thanks~”
When he reached the events of the final day—the confrontation and conversation in the reception room—Miyabi remained silent for quite a while before finally speaking, her voice so soft it was almost a murmur.
“…”
“Hm?”
After a brief pause, she spoke again.
“Shihou-san probably likes you very much now.”
“I think so too.”
“And yet you’re lying here getting a lap pillow from another girl?”
“The dream of a hot-blooded youth is a harem!”
Thud.
Just like last time, Harutaki’s head was promptly knocked straight onto the ground.
