Chapter 1723: Bad news
The Abaddon Inn was a broken as hell technique, and only worked because the laws within Abaddon were in a constant state of flux. The underlying premise of the ability was in depriving the target of the ability to influence laws while ensuring that the user’s connection to the laws wasn’t affected.
But even depriving the target of the ability to influence laws was only the first step, albeit an important one for more than one reason. The technique immobilised the body, not by restricting the body, but by targeting the connection between the soul and the body.
He affected that connection by occupying the spirit, or the mind entirely, preventing his conscious and subconscious mind from defending while he established the technique.
For this to work out well, any strong stimuli was required, whether it be positive or negative. After all, occupying the mind was what determined whether the technique would be successful or not.
Though the technique had worked wonderfully in this instance, Lex knew that the technique wasn’t that great. There were too many steps, each one with too many weaknesses, and all of them critical.
The biggest weakness of the technique was that it wouldn’t even work outside Abaddon, since in the rest of the universe, the laws tended to be less fluid. While he was here, though, it would be a pretty powerful tool as long as he didn’t mess it up.
More importantly, it was his first attempt at using his real life experiences to recreate a powerful, dynamic technique that did more than just one thing. Sure, he could breathe fire or put up defensive walls. But like he had just proved, more complex techniques could make a tough fight easier, and could handle a wider range of problems.
Making and using the Abaddon Inn would be good practice for what he could do later on. He did not intend on keeping his scope limited.
Up until now, he mostly used his Lawcrafting to fight or defend, but there was no reason why it couldn’t be used for literally everything else either.
For example, not only was Abaddon Inn good for controlling the target, it could do a number of other things that Lex had reflected in the services that the Inn offered. Room and boarding were the most simple of them. He was especially proud of what his Abaddon Inns Meditation room could accomplish.
