Chapter 1692: Becoming immortal
All in all, Jackβs ascendance caused scandals on a universal scale, almost triggering a massive war. The war had also been delayed due to a different phenomenon in the very same ascendance, yet none of it was actually caused due to Jack himself.
The night sky and stars were linked to the curse plaguing the fairies. The disturbance in the night was caused by the Challenge realm, and his proclamation was caused by interference from Bob - Bob who had somehow affected matters far, far beyond his power level.
None of it was because of Jack specifically, though he was not without his own merit. After all, he had set into motion a sequence of events that would forever change the course of history.
One would think that affecting the whole damn universe would be a lot harder, given its size. But it seemed that Lex and Jack just had some skill in that regard - a natural born talent.
Yet to the very end, there seemed to be no phenomenon specifically because of Jack or his actions.
Someone observing objectively might find such a conclusion disappointing, considering Lexβs own achievements. Yet what Jack had achieved might be vastly more significant than just causing a phenomenon. He had transmitted a solid object across the universe instantaneously. Maybe compared to nearly causing a universal war it did not seem as grand, but it was definitely far from simple.
Lex did not want to divert his mental capacity by wondering about how to achieve such a thing, but he was certainly stumped by it. More importantly, he had gotten his hands on some incredibly valuable divine ore. Lex would be able to make greater use of it than Jack.
In fact, from the very moment he got his hands on an ore, Lexβs instincts began to subtly give him hints to break through.
It was just that the hints he got were not to become a Heaven Immortal. Rather, his instincts were telling him to reach the Celestial Immortal level as soon as possible, and to not use the ore before then.
But one could not just become a Celestial as they wished - especially when Lex wanted to continue the trend of gaining the maximum benefit he could from each realm. Even so, that subtle sense of urgency that sat at the back of his mind could not be denied.
Jack continued to cultivate, losing his sense of passing time as his body was baptized in the soothing energies provided by the Challenge realm and the divine ore.
Immortals needed the energy from the lightning tribulation to transform their body and soul so that they could reach a higher level of existence, and this was a step that could hardly be skipped. It was the same for Jack.
