Four towering pillars of light stood at the center of the cliffside, their golden waves pressing against the darkness.

This cliffside, with its river below, was a familiar place to the two of them. They had first stumbled upon it in their previous lives while on the run from the Goddesses Church, lighting fires and sleeping in the cold.
Then, after Karnak's return to the past, they had once again encountered it while hunting down the rogue necromancer Fred. It was no coincidence that they were so skilled at escaping.
