"Gramps?" she said softly, catching his attention.

Abraham turned to face her, his sharp eyes softening when they landed on her. "Lady Wilhelmina," he greeted with a respectful nod. "Is something the matter?"

She shook her head, trying to keep her voice steady. "No, I... I was just wondering where Lyan is. I need to speak with him."

Abraham regarded her for a moment, his gaze seeming to pierce through the surface of her calm exterior. He always had a way of knowing when something was weighing on her mind, and yet, he never pried. "He’s in the war room," he said simply, his tone gentle. "Shall I accompany you?"

Wilhelmina smiled, shaking her head. "Thank you, but I can find him myself." She hesitated for a moment, then added, "You’re always so kind, Gramps. Thank you for everything."

Abraham’s lips twitched upward in a barely-there smile, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "It is my duty and my pleasure, Lady Wilhelmina. Always."

With a grateful nod, she turned and made her way toward the war room, her heart pounding louder with each step. The hallway leading to the room was dim, with the occasional flicker of candlelight casting shadows on the stone walls. As she approached, she heard voices coming from inside, but one voice stood out above the rest—Lyan’s.
