Lord Summoner's Freedom Philosophy: Grimoire of Love

Chapter 258: Protect Arkansas (7) The Final One’s Coming

"Guess everything went according to plan," Lyan said, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips. The war room was abuzz with a mixture of tension and relief as the leaders of Arkansas’s defense gathered to debrief after the latest skirmish.

Gildevart, the Guildmaster, nodded in agreement. "Indeed. The golems performed flawlessly in collapsing the tunnels. The attackers never saw it coming."

Lyan leaned back in his chair, his eyes glinting with calculated confidence. "Our surveillance has been instrumental. The gargoyles and the stone beasts have provided us with invaluable intel. We knew their every move before they even made it."

The scene shifted back to the moments of the tunnel collapse. The golems, massive and powerful, had been strategically positioned to bring down the tunnels at the right moment. As Alaric’s team advanced, the golems triggered a controlled collapse, trapping the enemy and forcing them to retreat.

In the meantime, Varkas’s group, advancing on the northern wall, was met with fierce resistance. Josephine, the Madam and former famous mercenary, led the charge, her movements a blur of deadly precision. Gildevart supported her, his battle prowess live up to his reputation, raising the morale of the rest of the mercenaries defending the city.

Borton and his Brave Rings’ mercenaries added to the chaos, their coordinated strikes wreaking havoc among Varkas’s men. Alina, her katana a gleaming arc of death, danced through the battlefield with lethal grace. Belle, with her illusion spells and purple flames, confused and disoriented the attackers, making them easy prey for the defenders.

From the shadows, Xena’s arrows, enhanced with wind spells, found their marks with unerring accuracy. Ravia and Raine, their movements almost invisible, struck with their knives, dispatching enemies before they could even react. The combined might of these defenders turned the northern assault into a slaughter.

Back at the House of Roses, the leaders gathered to assess their situation. The opulent chamber, filled with the scent of roses and the soft glow of candlelight, was a stark contrast to the chaos outside.

"This will be the last phase," Lyan stated, his tone serious. "The enemy will not be fooled again. They’ll come at us with everything they have."

Gildevart nodded solemnly. "Yes, after this, the difficulty will increase exponentially. They will abandon cheap strategies and focus on a full frontal assault."

The room fell silent, the weight of their predicament settling over them. Despite their victories, the defenders knew the true test was yet to come.
