Chapter 217: World of Memories (3) Lilith Nyx Shyama
Lyan sat alone in his room, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air as he contemplated the events of the previous night. Solia had departed with Wilhelmina and the others for their agenda, leaving Lyan to ponder the peculiar absence of notifications from the grimoire.
"Hmm... It’s strange," Lyan murmured thoughtfully as he took another sip of his coffee, his mind drifting back to the passionate night he had shared with Solia.
"I believe we’ve done enough rounds, but somehow there are no prompts or notifications from the grimoire regarding a new monster child birth from our love session or the notification about her becoming one of the summoner’s wives. That’s interesting..." Lyan’s lips curled into a smirk as he analyzed the situation, finding amusement rather than concern in the phenomenon.
(It might be that there is a certain condition that needs to be fulfilled, huh...) Lyan pondered, his thoughts racing as he considered the possibilities.
"Maybe... It’s a certain mana-bound contract similar to the mana oath, I guess?" Lyan speculated aloud, his mind racing with theories. "I realized that her loyalty towards Wilhelmina as a friend and follower is quite high... And judging from our conversations, I guess she doesn’t accept the fact of her being my wife or as someone right next to me because her loyalty lies elsewhere."
Continuing to sip his coffee, Lyan contemplated the strength of conviction and loyalty that seemed to override the influence of the grimoire.
"I doubt the grimoire’s influence is weak. So I guess it’s their conviction that’s strong, huh...?" Lyan mused with a slight smile, intrigued by the complexity of human emotions and bonds.
"But at least I got quite an interesting one," Lyan remarked, his gaze shifting to the monster before him with a pair of wings and sharp teeth, happily munching on bread. "It seems that the intense sessions made the black bar points in the grimoire overloaded. I’ve certainly hit the jackpot."
[Gargoyle
Gargoyles, sculpted from stone but imbued with life, are formidable and enigmatic beings that serve as both guardians and spies in the realms they inhabit. With their chiseled features and imposing stature, they perch silently atop ancient structures, blending seamlessly with their stony surroundings until called upon to act. In their dormant state, they appear as mere decorative fixtures adorning the rooftops of castles, cathedrals, and other grand edifices, their visages often twisted into grotesque and menacing expressions that strike fear into the hearts of trespassers.
However, when the need arises, gargoyles spring to life with startling agility and strength. Their stone bodies awaken, and they descend from their lofty perches with an eerie silence, moving swiftly and stealthily through the shadows. With razor-sharp claws and formidable wings, they become formidable adversaries, capable of swooping down upon their unsuspecting prey with startling speed and ferocity. Despite their imposing appearance, gargoyles are not merely mindless guardians; they possess a keen intellect and cunning that allows them to carry out their duties as both protectors and spies with precision and efficiency.
