Chapter 660: Activating the Artefact
Somewhere not too far from the Cromwell Barony’s walls...
The figure in the distance casually approached them, his arms crossed behind his back. He wore a black robe with a large number four inscription on it and a cracked mask that barely covered the top half of his face, exposing a sharp grin filled with malice.
"What are two little bugs doing snooping around here?"
His voice was lazy, but his presence was anything but. A suffocating wave of pressure radiated from him, causing the ground to tremble slightly beneath their feet.
Bridget immediately stepped forward, summoning a magic staff with a dark crystal that gave off an ominous aura.
Meanwhile, Elvin kicked the ground, distancing himself as he knocked an arrow on his bow, aiming at the robed enemy.
Before either of them could react, the man vanished, reappearing right behind Elvin.
’Fast...’ Elvin gritted his teeth and rolled to the side, barely dodging the incoming palm strike that created a small crater upon contact with the ground.
The heat from the palm strike brushed past his face.
’That was close...’ He quickly leaped to his feet, already loosing an arrow mid-motion.
The arrow shot toward the robed enemy’s chest, but the man casually tilted his head, letting the arrow pass harmlessly by.
