Ye Qing did not feel angry nor distrustful of Old Man Turtle though. For one, Old Man Turtle harbored no ill will toward them. Two, the Sage had given them a lot of help along the way. So what if he harbored some selfish intentions? It did not matter in the grand scheme of things.

As Old Man Turtle said this, he clasped his hands together and bowed toward Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou—or at least, he tried to.
Ye Qing immediately caught him and said, “Please, elder. You’ve provided us with a lot of help on the way, but we weren’t able to repay any of them until now. So let’s say we’re even, shall we?”
“Joyless is right, elder. You are too courteous.”
Feng Qingyou smiled. “Besides, our contribution in this matter isn’t that significant. Lingyu is the one who played the biggest role in your recovery.”
“Oh, you’re right! I completely forgot about the girl. It’s my mistake.”
Old Man Turtle slapped his forehead and turned to Lingyu. “Lass, it’s all thanks to you that I’m recovered. Please, accept my bow.”
Lingyu was still confused as to what they were talking about when Old Man Turtle suddenly bowed in her direction. She hurriedly pulled the old man to his feet while saying, “What are you doing, Grandpa Turtle?! Please rise. Besides, we’re a group, aren’t we? There’s no need for thanks between companions!”
Old Man Turtle patted her head smilingly before looking back at Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou. “Very well. I shan’t make things awkward for anyone any longer. Still, I owe you all one. Just call upon me if you ever need my help. I promise I will do everything in my power to see it done.”
