Chapter 1659: Shaping A World
This was happening because his “Paranirmitavaśavartin Heavenly Demon Sutra” and “Heavenly Demon Treasure Edict” had merged into the “Paranirmitavaśavartin Heavenly Demon Treasure Edict”, of course.
Undoubtedly, the “Heavenly Demon Treasure Edict” was the latter half of the “Paranirmitavaśavartin Heavenly Demon Sutra”. Since the two halves had merged into a complete whole—and maybe the Paranirmitavaśavartin Heavenly Demon had given him an extra push as well—his spiritual power had grown tremendously. Naturally, his Paranirmita Vasavartin Heaven was becoming bigger and more complete, and his yang god was growing in strength as well.
There was no doubt his increase in strength was a good thing.
This wasn’t how he wanted to grow in strength though.
For one, this meant that his karmic bond with the Paranirmitavaśavartin Heavenly Demon had grown deeper than ever before. He had no doubt that he had come under the Heavenly Demon’s attention completely.
He was the heir to the Earthly Sovereign. He had a boundless future ahead of him. Although catching the attention of the malicious Heavenly Demon had earned him a lot of power, it also gained him a ton of trouble. No matter how he thought about it, the gains weren’t worth the drawbacks.
Besides that, he could clearly sense himself growing increasingly indifferent and uncaring toward the living as his Paranirmita Vasavartin Heaven grew bigger, and his yang god grew stronger. He felt as if he was growing beyond the mortal coil and becoming unfettered from mortal concerns. He felt as if all of the living in the many worlds and the red dust were no more important than the ants crawling across the earth. He felt like he could kill them on a whim or play with them like a toy.
This state of being was known as Elevation among practitioners of the Dark Ways. They viewed it as elevating oneself beyond the mortal coil until all that mattered under the heavens and above the earth was themselves. Everyone else besides them was an ant.
A practitioner of the Dark Ways would be more than happy to attain such a state of mind.
However, Ye Qing was not a practitioner of the Dark Ways. He could not become unfeeling toward the red dust. He could not view all of living as ants. He had bonds and burdens that he could not give up among the red dust. He had humans, friends, family, and people he wished to protect in the human world. He had his own responsibilities and duties he needed to shoulder.
