Unlike the Seventy Two Earthly Fiends Tribulations, the Thirty Six Heavenly Stars Tribulations were equally potent. Every tribulation was the culmination of the world’s energy and the manifestation of the Great Way’s power. They all possessed boundless power.
What type of tribulation a warrior would face when they became a Sage was dependent on their martial way, their mental state, their willpower and so on.
For example, the Supreme Primal Origin Unbounded Tribulation Feng Qingyou just triggered was related to concepts such as Supreme Nirvana and Primal Beginning. Way wise, it corresponded to the Way of Supreme Nirvana and the Way of Primal Beginning. This meant that Feng Qingyou’s martial way could be tied to those concepts.
