The Ghost Dragon, Nether Bird, Corpse Turtle, Nether Tiger, and Dark Qilin were all evil beasts and Strangers who used to ravage the world in ancient times. They were directly opposed to the Azure Dragon, Vermillion Bird, White Tiger, Black Tortoise, and Qilin. Their powers were vast and terrible to say the least. Later, the five ancient dark beasts were exiled from this world and sealed in the Sky Beyond Sky, never to return.
However, the Rakshasa Seal could apparently borrow their strength. It could only be an evil array.
“But of course.”
The White Robe Demon Master said frankly, “I told you before that this array is dangerous and corrupt. Not only will it take an enormous amount of power to activate and maintain, the power of the five dark beasts would continuously erode our willpower and consciousness. If our determination isn’t strong enough, or if our willpower is weak, then it is very possible for us to succumb to mental corruption and experience martial deviation.”
“That said, I don’t think you all would mind shouldering some risks if you can kill the Rakshasa King, right?”
“Five Sages?” The Sky Scorching Great Emperor eyed at the White Robe Demon Master with deep suspicion. “You’re planning to make us operate your array?”
“It would be ideal,” White Robe Demon Master smiled, “but something tells me you’re not amenable to that idea.”
The five Sages kept quiet. That in itself was an answer.
If the White Robe Demon Master had lied to them about its functions, if there was a harmful function about the Rakshasa Seal that he hadn’t told them about, or if he had attacked them while they were exhausted, then they would not be able to defend themselves.
They could risk their lives and even sacrifice themselves for the sake of the Profound Alliance and humanity, but that was only if the sacrifice would produce meaningful results. Otherwise, what was the point?
White Robe Demon Master was well aware of their worries, of course. “So, let’s do it this way. Four of you and I will operate this array.”
