Su Yu could feel that some of the remaining humans were shivering with fear. That was understandable. It was normal for one to feel fear in the face of death.
Even Su Yu himself was not immune to that fear. However, they had still remained. That was a mark of courage.
"Humanity..." Su Yu muttered to himself.
Even as a human himself, he couldn't help but lament that humanity was truly too odd. The internal strife within the human race was so intense that he couldn't resist abandoning humanity altogether. The humans seemed incapable of not fighting among themselves.
But when threatened by an external enemy, many would step forth courageously, even knowing that they would die. Even those who had never liked Bai Feng would step forth out of a sense of obligation.
Even when a much safer alternative was offered, they had opted to remain.
