Chapter 686: SFDI - 686
As Whitebeard said, Ochoku was a pirate with great charisma. Therefore, in terms of overall strength under his command, he could even rival the Four Emperors.
However, Ochoku ultimately did not become an Emperor of the Sea due to a lack of top-tier combatants.
Although Ochoku’s few executives were also strong, they were still a notch below the executives of the Four Emperor pirate crews, naturally unable to match the members of Fairy Tail.
The worst part was that not all the pirates on Hachinosu Island were Ochoku’s subordinates. Although they affectionately called Ochoku "Boss" in normal times, no one was willing to stand with him in this dangerous situation.
These onlookers were already being generous; many pirates, seeing Ochoku and his subordinates at a disadvantage, even began to attack them while they were down.
These pirates had long heard that Ochoku had stolen something valuable from the World Government.
Naturally, anything Ochoku valued would arouse the greed of these individuals, so they also joined the fray.
Fairy Tail, Ochoku’s Pirate Crew, and over a dozen other pirate crews formed their own factions. Everyone except their own side was an enemy, and Hachinosu plunged into chaos.
Drake also figured out how Law had instigated the Rocky Port incident in the original story; it was likely by exploiting the chaos created by these individuals.
Erza, while swinging her sword to fend off a pirate subordinate of Ochoku, also struck down pirates trying to take advantage of the situation.
Stella, controlling the Nine-Headed Fire Dragon, cleared the surrounding area and looked towards Drake and Ochoku, saying, "That old man seems quite strong! But Drake is taking too long. Why isn’t he going all out?"
Ochoku, facing Drake directly, also felt this. Being underestimated by his opponent was more humiliating than being suppressed in battle.
"Brat, what exactly do you want?! Are you here just to insult me?"
Drake dodged a furious sword swing from Ochoku and replied, "I don’t have such perverse tastes. I just want to see more of your swordsmanship, so I don’t want it to end so quickly."
Ochoku revealed a ferocious smile and said, "So you think you can defeat me with your full strength? Stop being arrogant, brat. I am Ochoku!"
His previously waning aura instantly surged. Ochoku gripped his longsword with both hands and said, "Come on, brat, let me show you my true strength!"
Drake let out a long breath and said solemnly: "I must apologize. I shouldn’t have held back against someone like you. From now on, I will go all out and end this battle."
Drake actively corrected his somewhat arrogant mindset. Unconsciously, he had been somewhat influenced by his own increasing power. Maintaining the mindset and demeanor of a true powerhouse requires constant vigilance.
The first step is to respect your opponent and yourself!
Thus, Drake activated his Dragon Flame Battle Attire and Dragon King’s Martial Body, followed by Dragon Transformation, entering a state of full-power combat.
Scorching flames danced around Drake’s body, the high temperature causing the surrounding seawater to evaporate rapidly.
Ochoku laughed heartily: "That’s terrifying! But who will win and who will lose is yet to be determined."
The two exchanged glances, then one raised his dragon-claw-transformed fist, and the other raised his longsword wrapped in all forms of Haki.
"Roar of the Flame Dragon King!"
"Five Peaks Style: Sea Split!"
A fire dragon phantom rose behind Drake, colliding with the giant sword shadow created by Ochoku’s slash, accompanied by black-red lightning and flames. The two intertwined, triggering a terrifying explosion. Even the solid rock of Rocky Port began to crumble under the force.
After a long while, the dust settled.
Drake tore off his shredded upper garment and said, "This should be a dignified end for a remnant of the old era!"
Opposite Drake, only a broken sword was stuck in the ground.
Drake had indeed gone all out; he couldn’t even control the power of that final blow.
There was no personal animosity between them, but when Ochoku, knowing he couldn’t win, still chose to fight on, Drake understood his resolve.
Therefore, Drake responded to his determination with a full-power attack, deeming any feelings of guilt as an insult to the resolve of this old-era great pirate.
After composing himself, Drake walked towards the distant warship.
Upon boarding the ship, Drake noticed several signs of battle, likely caused by the fight between Ochoku and the ship’s guards.
Although the ship looked technologically advanced, its structure was not overly complex. Following the directional signs inside, Drake soon reached the core area of the ship.
"This is a top-secret area. Unauthorized visitors, please leave immediately!"
As red lights flashed, alarms repeatedly sounded in the corridor.
Ignoring the warnings, Drake walked forward. Two rapidly rotating saw blades extended from the corridor walls, aiming to cut Drake.
Drake raised both hands to block them directly. The saw blades, upon colliding with the Spirit Armor on his palms, generated sparks.
It was unclear what material the saw blades were made of, as they persisted after such prolonged friction. Drake closed his fingers, crushing the saw blades and ripping them out, thus disabling the mechanism.
But immediately after, numerous laser-like devices extended from the walls, firing lasers at Drake.
Drake dodged several lasers by weaving left and right, but the lasers were relentless. Impatient, Drake unleashed a Roar of the Flame Dragon, destroying all the devices.
Reaching the cabin door, Drake looked at the complex mechanical combination lock. He raised his palm and used his Dragon-Slaying Blade, piercing directly through the cabin door.
Then, Drake violently tore off the cabin door along with the surrounding hull, finally revealing the most important hidden item on the ship.
The cabin was not small, but most of its space was occupied by a pile of specialized scientific equipment.
Drake, being a mage, didn’t know much about scientific machinery. However, he could tell that this collection of machinery was all designed to preserve the most important item.
Drake walked over and looked at the large spherical machinery.
The spherical machine had a circular transparent window, through which the interior could be seen.
Drake’s gaze was completely captivated by the entity lurking within.
It was a small flame, floating in an unknown liquid inside the equipment, occasionally emitting bubbles.
As Drake had predicted, this ship was transporting Vegapunk’s developed Mother Seed.
It was likely that the special weapon used by Imu after the Reverie was powered by this.
It was no wonder Ochoku hadn’t moved it; the power of this single flame was enough to destroy the entire Hachinosu Island. Acting rashly could lead to unimaginable consequences.
Drake placed his hand on the crystal window, feeling the power of the flame.
Vegapunk was indeed a scientist ahead of his time; he had managed to replicate the power of the sun through human means!
