Shao He was momentarily stunned upon hearing the words but then nodded and raised her hand to put on her mask.
Just then, a group of people came over. Shao He was forcefully pushed away and happened to fall into Pei Huaian’s embrace, feeling his strong physique and the faint scent of fresh grass, her ear tips turning slightly red as an unusual surge of affection rose from the bottom of her heart.
"Are you, are you all right?" Shao He suppressed the strange sensation inside her and asked with feigned composure.
"I’m fine." Pei Huaian leaned closer to her ear and whispered, his warm breath tickling her sensitive earlobe.
Shao He’s body trembled, her originally pale cheeks blush slightly. She bit her lip and glared at him, chiding, "If you’re all right, then let’s get going."
"I can’t be blamed for this; you’re the one who threw yourself into my arms!" Pei Huaian’s deep and magnetic voice sounded in her ear, making Shao He go weak all over.
"Stop talking nonsense; I was clearly pushed by someone!" Shao He forcefully pushed away his arms wrapped around her waist and turned to walk toward the Sky Fragrant Tea House.
Seeing her reaction, Pei Huaian laughed and followed her, reaching out to grasp her wrist and interlocking their fingers.
Shao He turned her head and gave him a fierce glare. Seeing him still smiling, she turned her head away in both shame and annoyance.
The interior of the tea house was lavishly decorated, each seat carved with dragons and painted with phoenixes, the epitome of luxury.
"What would the two guests like to have?" The waiter came up to greet them and looked the pair over, his eyes gleaming brightly.
