Zu An spoke up and said, “I took Sect Master Yan’s soul to the Netherworld to visit Chuyan.”
“Soul projection?” Pei Mianman widened her eyes in realization.
“Can a living person’s soul enter the Netherworld?” Yun Jianyue asked in astonishment.
“It shouldn’t have been possible under normal circumstances, but with my current strength, I can bring a person in, though it’s only limited to the soul,” Zu An replied gleefully. He had to be the only human in the world capable of this feat.
“That’s wonderful! I want to go to the Yellow Spring Road to examine those Red Spider Lilies.” Pei Mianman was overjoyed. She hadn’t been able to do much with her Paramita Butterfly. Taking a look at the Red Spider Lilies could help her reap some benefits. She turned to Yan Xuehen and asked, “Sect Master Yan, did you see the Red Spider Lilies? Are they beautiful?”
Yan Xuehen had enough time to regain her composure. “Yes, they are unforgettably beautiful.”
Pei Mianman’s eyes twinkled in excitement. She was already imagining how romantic it would be for her to stroll through a field of Red Spider Lilies with her lover.
But Yun Jianyue wasn’t that easily fooled. She eyed the two of them and asked, “Are you sure that’s all?”
Zu An replied with a smile, “What else could there be?”
Yun Jianyue pushed on with narrowed eyes, “A person’s senses are heightened in soul form. Did you do anything impolite to the ice sculpture?”
Before Zu An could reply, Yan Xuehen harrumphed. “What do you mean by that, demoness?” She was nowhere as confident as she appeared, but she knew it would appear more suspicious if she didn’t fight back when her archenemy was slandering her.
