Chapter 322: Boom goes the Whale
"They are almost in there," Greldo shouted over the constant angry screaming. "A few more got stuck, but I don't think they are going to get free!"
"Alright, then, let's get out of here," Irwin shouted back, rubbing his head.
The two of them were sitting on a fleshy ridge that Ambraz had blown into the highest part of the stomach area, while below them, a few stragglers were running deeper into the Chaos Whale toward where the heart area was. Constant waves of uncontrolled soulforce rippled out from that direction, running havoc on his senses. Even Greldo said he sensed some of it, but it didn't seem to bother him much.
To the Addled, however, it seemed to function like some soft, powerful lure.
Greldo grabbed his shoulder, and the screaming and undulating dulled as they entered the shadowrealm. Irwin felt relieved as they began shooting through the body, rapidly heading to the exit Ambraz had made.
As they burst out, Irwin noticed a handful of Addled around the corpse while the babies had risen a bit further. Their song, muted in the shadowrealm, had taken a confused and frightened tone.
I'll need to do something about them before they fly away and get themselves killed or draw something this way, Irwin thought.
As they angled back to the ledge they had been at before, a ripple ran through the large corpse below them. Waves of soulforce burst out of it, and as it increased in power, Irwin felt a sense of awe than worry.
If there's anything nearby, they are going to notice this, he thought.
As they reappeared in the real world, the crazed pulses of soulforce rammed into him. They were far more powerful even than those of the Earth Titan, and the only reason he was still standing was because of how far away they were.
"Irwin? You alright?"
Irwin looked at Greldo, giving his friend a quick nod.
