Chapter 308 - 294 dirty words
When Tian Sangsang got home, she put the roll of film in the bedside table drawer and hurried to the kitchen to cook.
Speaking of which, finding a business partner didn’t make things any easier—in fact, it made her busier. Ji Qin was quite capable. Last time, Sangsang gave her twenty bottles of moisturizing lotion, and she sold them all within days. After that, Ji Qin would bring her roses every now and then, so lately Sangsang hadn’t gone out to sell anything but had been busy making products for Ji Qin.
Moreover, last time Ji Qin learned that she could make different types of moisturizing lotion, she brought over green tea and aloe. Sangsang experimented with them all. Coincidentally, her special space didn’t have green tea or aloe, so she planted some for the future—those ingredients would definitely come in handy. After all, green tea and aloe were common skincare materials, great for making different skincare products. However, for now, Sangsang was only focused on making moisturizing lotion.
So these days, she was either home during mealtimes and in the evenings or over at Guan Kunling’s place making products. She was incredibly busy.
"Yanyan, bring Mommy the mop," Tian Sangsang called out from the kitchen. She had accidentally spilled some water on the floor just now.
Don’t underestimate little Meng Shuyan—he could easily manage a mop. Every time, he would drag the mop into the kitchen like he was pulling out a radish. His cute little expression was simply too much to handle.
Hearing a rustling sound beside her, she turned her head and saw a mop sweeping back and forth on the floor. Her gaze traveled up along the mop: first, a hand with well-defined knuckles and strength; then, a green military uniform; and finally... Jiang Jinghuai’s handsome face.
"You’re back already?" Her tone was affectionate.
"Mhm." Jiang Jinghuai’s dark eyes sparkled. "Need help?"
"Go, go, go." Tian Sangsang playfully shoved him. "I think you’ll just make things worse."
"You underestimate your man." He knocked her lightly on the head with his knuckles.
Sangsang scowled and rubbed the spot he had tapped. Crossing her arms, she leisurely watched him. "How about you start cooking from tomorrow then?"
"No more nonsense," he retorted with a smirk.
Knew it wasn’t going to happen, she thought, curling her lips in dissatisfaction.
"Aside from cooking, I can handle everything else," Jiang Jinghuai said, half-smiling. "Just give the word."
Tian Sangsang’s face flushed as she pointed at him in embarrassed frustration. "Captain Jiang, could you please help this humble lady bring out the chicken soup?"
"Sure!"

During dinner, Jiang Jinghuai suddenly asked, "Been tired lately?"
Meng Shuyan butted in, "Yep, Dad. Mom’s been really tired lately, always making that... that stuff for faces and hands."
"No wonder there’s been so much chicken soup," Jiang Jinghuai mused. "She really does need some nourishment."
Tian Sangsang set down her chicken soup and replied, "Someone’s been helping me sell products. She used to run a flower tea business and still has a flower field. She provides the raw materials, and I make the products for her, selling each bottle to her at a lower price."
"So, are you making a profit or a loss?"
Hmm? Sangsang froze. Honestly, after letting Ji Qin help with sales, the money recently had gone up a little, with most of the income coming through Ji Qin. But since Sangsang was busy making products for Ji Qin, she hadn’t had time to market them herself. Thinking about it... she was kind of losing out.
"Of course, I’m making a profit," Sangsang replied, her expression staying calm. "Soon, I won’t need to rely on you to support me."
Jiang Jinghuai didn’t object to her running a small business. After all, his military stipend wasn’t enough for her to live a lavish life.
Still, his dark eyes narrowed. "From what you’re saying, Ji Qin seems quite shrewd. Aren’t you worried she might turn against you?"
Tian Sangsang frowned slightly. "I don’t think so. Ji Qin seems nice. We’re mutually benefiting each other."
"Always keep your guard up," Jiang Jinghuai advised. "In business, there are invisible daggers; and outside of business, the daggers are openly displayed."
Sangsang asked curiously, "Oh? So you’re an expert in business dealings now?"
"It’s not just business. Every field is the same. Do you think there’s no internal competition in the military?" Jiang Jinghuai’s deep eyes darkened momentarily.
Sangsang nodded thoughtfully, realizing he might be right. She had indeed been too naive, overestimating human relationships. People could change—what seemed true in one moment might not hold up in a different scenario.
Jiang Jinghuai’s words brought her a sense of forewarning. Perhaps things had been going too smoothly lately, and she’d lost her edge.
"Anyway, the recipe is in my hands. Even if she wanted to turn on me, she wouldn’t be able to," Sangsang said with a laugh.
After dinner, they tidied up. Jiang Jinghuai went for a shower, and Tian Sangsang bathed Meng Shuyan before grabbing a sleep dress and heading to the bathroom herself.
Meng Shuyan stayed in the living room, while Jiang Jinghuai lingered in the bedroom for a bit before heading to the study to read.
After her shower, Tian Sangsang let down her slightly curled black hair and walked straight to the room.
Full and satisfied after her meal and bath, her mind drifted toward entertainment. Oh, the roll of film Zhao Chun had given her! It was time to take it out for a look!
Sangsang opened the drawer and was about to grab the film when her hand froze. She had put the film here earlier... Too reckless! If Jiang Jinghuai saw it, she’d be done for.
Luckily, he wasn’t in the room.
But then, as if summoned by her thoughts, his slightly magnetic voice sounded behind her, "What are you doing?"
Her hand clenched the film, and in an instant, it disappeared into her storage space. At that moment, Tian Sangsang felt immensely grateful for having such an ability. Otherwise, even if she had done nothing wrong, just being caught here would’ve been hard to explain.
"Nothing." She turned around, her peach blossom eyes wide and innocent as she forced a sweet smile.
Jiang Jinghuai silently stared at her. Under the light, his deep black eyes were dark and inscrutable.
After what felt like an eternity, his intense gaze made her nervously bite her dry lips.
Suddenly, he chuckled lightly, as if the earlier heaviness had never existed.
"You know, every time you smile like that..." He pulled her slender waist toward him with one arm, and with the other, he gently caressed her fair cheek.
Sangsang nervously looked up at him... So, he was about to say she’s pretty?
He leaned down, his warm lips pressing against her neck as he whispered, "I just really want to..."
Relieved that he hadn’t noticed anything, she suddenly remembered and blurted out, "Get lost!"
He looked down at her, his low voice teasing, "Even more..."
"Jiang Jinghuai, where’d you learn to talk dirty like this? How did I not know you were so full of filthy thoughts before?!" Even a veteran like Sangsang felt her heart racing.
"Natural talent." His deep eyes were speckled with starlight. "I just never had a wife before, so I didn’t have the chance to show it off."
And what exactly was the connection between the two?
"If I don’t say these things to you, should I be saying them to someone else? You’re my only wife!"
That line actually warmed her heart. Sangsang nudged him. "Smooth talker."
"Let’s buy a TV," Jiang Jinghuai suddenly suggested.
