Chapter 278 - 265 Lushan Trip (Combined Version)_2
"Tian Sangsang!" Zhao Chun jumped up and angrily shouted, "I’m not!"
The group couldn’t hold back their laughter!
"Seriously, so noisy, is that polite?" A discontented voice reached the ears of Tian Sangsang and the others.
They instinctively turned in the direction of the voice, and the speaker was none other than Li Mei. Li Mei followed behind Wenxiu and Li Yibai, looking at them with disdain.
Their group, besides the three of them, included some other people who seemed very young. However, they looked rather relaxed. Even though they were traveling far, they didn’t bring much along, as if someone was waiting to meet them at their destination. Comparing the two groups, the difference was stark.
Li Yibai noticed Tian Sangsang and Zhao Chun and wanted to go over to greet them. But after glancing at Wenxiu, whose expression was calm, he didn’t dare to approach.
When Wenxiu has a calm expression, it often means she’s in a bad mood.
The groups sat waiting in the station, annoyed at each other’s presence, saying nothing.
After a short while, Wenxiu leaned over and whispered something to Li Mei. Li Mei then called over one of the girls from their crew and whispered something to her as well. The girl hesitated but eventually nodded.
"Chen Wan!" The girl called out to Chen Wan.
"Oh, Wen!" Chen Wan ran over and asked, "What’s up?" Though the two crews clearly didn’t get along, these two were classmates and got along fairly well.
"It’s such a coincidence running into you here. Where are you all heading?"
"We’re going to Mount Lushan." Chen Wan answered without a hint of suspicion, "Are you heading out too?"
"Yes, our crew is waiting for us over there. We’re heading out to meet with them."
Seeing Lin Zhengliang among their group made Chen Wan angry. She whispered, "He used to be with our group, but now he’s run off to play the male lead in yours."
Wen awkwardly replied, "Nothing we could do about it; he’s always had a big ego but little capability. Anyway..." She covered her mouth and laughed, "Let’s not talk about that. What happens with the crew is crew business. We’re classmates, so let’s not let that affect us. Our assistant screenwriter bought some beef skewers today and shared them with us. I thought of you and saved some for you—it’s good stuff; you have to try it!"
She pulled out three skewers.
Chen Wan quickly refused, "No, no, that’s too generous! You should keep them for yourself, Wen!"
"I’ve already eaten and had my fill. Just take them." Wen placed the skewers in her hands, "You used to give me food all the time. If you don’t take this, you’re not treating me as a friend anymore."
"They smell so good! Thank you, Wen~~~!" Chen Wan sniffed them a few times and said, "When the film is done and we win an award, I’ll treat you to a meal!"
"Deal! Beef is a delicacy, but eating too much isn’t good. You could share it with your teammates, let them try it too." Wen’s eyes glimmered as she suggested.
"Of course!" Holding the three beef skewers, Chen Wan hopped back to her group.
"Who wants beef skewers? These are really good! Boss, have one! I know you’re the pickiest when it comes to food!"
Zhao Chun raised her eyes and cast a proud glance, "Don’t want it."
Chen Wan pouted, "Then Yao Yu, you want one?"
"I’d really like to." Yao Yu swallowed hard, "But you didn’t bring them out sooner. I’ve already eaten, and had several oranges too—my stomach is full. Eating more now wouldn’t be good for me."
Chen Wan looked around at the group. They all shook their heads; they’d just devoured a whole big bag of oranges—bright, golden-hued ones—and were completely full.
At this point, their stomachs were too full to enjoy the precious beef skewers. Besides, they came from the other crew. The group had pride; they were determined not to eat it.
"How about Sangsang?" Chen Wan cheerfully sat down next to Tian Sangsang, looking at her expectantly, "Have one, Sangsang. You and I can eat together since the others aren’t lucky enough to enjoy this."
Tian Sangsang couldn’t bring herself to reject her. She took one skewer and held it in her hand.
"Ah, Chen Wan..." She frowned, about to remind her to be cautious with food from the other team—even if they were classmates, it was wise to be careful.
One must always guard against others.
But Chen Wan had already taken a big bite and started chewing. "So good! It even has chili! It’s spicy~~" she said while frantically waving her hand.
Her enthusiastic eating made even Tian Sangsang hungry.
Tian Sangsang hesitated, eyeing the beef skewer in her hand. The meat was vibrant, aromatic, dripping with tempting flavor—it looked and smelled perfect, without anything suspicious.
She held back and still didn’t dare take a bite.
Chen Wan quickly finished her skewer, her lips flushed red from the spice. She suddenly asked, "Hey... Sangsang, why aren’t you eating yet?"
"I just had some bayberries earlier, and my teeth feel sour. I’ll wait a bit before I eat."
Chen Wan nodded in understanding and agreed, "Yeah, when your teeth feel sour, it messes with the taste."
The group went back to waiting for their bus. Zhao Chun read her script, Yao Yu napped, others chatted quietly, and Chen Wan, having stuffed herself, massaged her stomach.
