Chapter 48: What kind of grass?
"Then I’m heading back." Feeling completely disoriented, Chen Ying noticed the door was locked as she tried to open it. Why did Zhou Ge lock the door? Could this have been his plan all along?
Chen Ying dashed out of the room in a panic, nearly bumping into Tian Tian.
Laughing mischievously, Tian Tian greeted her with a knowing smile. "Yingzi, just coming from Zhou Zheng’s place, huh?"
"There’s nothing between us! Don’t overthink it," Chen Ying stopped in her tracks to explain.
"I never said there was anything between you two." Tian Tian sized her up with a teasing smile, covering her mouth as she laughed. "Unless there really is something?"
"Hmph!" Chen Ying steadied her breath. "What are you doing here? Looking for Zhou Ge?"
"That’s right. Don’t get the wrong idea, Yingzi. I’m just asking some questions on behalf of my little brother."
Tian Tian’s younger brother, nicknamed Big Niu, was one of Zhou Zheng’s students, currently attending primary school. Tian Tian herself worked at the school as the accountant.
Without dwelling on it, Chen Ying blushed and ran off, secretly regretting that she’d slapped Zhou Zheng earlier today. In doing so, how was she any different from Tian Sangsang? Would this make Zhou Ge dislike her? Was he angry at her?
After a few steps, Chen Ying hesitated, glanced back, and decisively turned around.
