Ivita appeared at the foot of the mountain and found Jace and Dave, simply saying to them, "I am not of the Raven People, as you both know. Therefore, I am now leaving this country. You two can continue to stay here, or you can leave with me."
"I now possess four independent countries. Wherever you wish to go, you will find a suitable place."
"This is to thank you for helping me obtain the Dragon King’s Fire."
Jace and Dave hesitated for a moment, exchanging glances.
Ivita’s promise was wonderful, and only a young king like him could make such a promise.
But they were rural folk of the Raven Kingdom, and while they weren’t particularly passionate in their love for their country’s monarch, the land now lay shattered, and they yearned for the old soil of the past, wanting to make a last effort for their homeland.
Jace said to Ivita, "Your Majesty, I am grateful that you saved me when I was most desperate. But I wish to stay here and fight for my home. Though the land no longer resembles the scenery in my memories, it is still my homeland."
Dave hesitated the longest. He knew that if he left with Ivita, he really could live a good life.
He could completely escape the hardships here, sever all ties with everything that happened, while his kin might suffer from diseases and poverty, but he could pursue his dreams in other lands, following Ivita.
