The Martial Unity

Chapter 3254: Hastened Negotations

"...Your reasoning is very compelling, as expected, but do you think it is wise to steal technology from the dark elves?" she raised an eyebrow. "More than even the flora network, we need allies, do we not? Do you want to jeopardize a relationship with them just for a single technology, even if it is very powerful?"

Rui huffed, shaking his head. "That is a naive take, Ecologer. If you think that they aren’t trying to steal our technology, then you don’t know anything about geopolitics. What do you think they were trying to do when they connected with our flora root network? They were looking for information on us. This is how the game of geopolitics is played. If you are taken advantage of, you have only yourself to blame. I have deliberated was the the leaders of the elves, and I can assure you that they are not naive angels who don’t understand this dynamic. We are friendly as a whole in the big picture, but we fundamentally do what is in our own interests."

She heaved a sigh. "Very well then. I will commence a reverse engineering project to deduce the secrets of their greater flora network. Don’t expect results any time soon though. I am not a botanist, microbiologist, or a biotechnologist. I am an ecologist. The absence of esoterics also makes this even harder."

"A network of information and intelligence within a network of life spreading across the continent is right up your alley then," Rui remarked. "I’m sure that my father has similar expectations of you if he agreed to send you here with experts in the relevant fields."

"He has," she admitted. "I didn’t expect you to make the same point. Like father, like son, I suppose."

"Good, then get on it," Rui nodded to her. "I will leave it you."

It wasn’t long before his talk with the Ecologer ended and he quickly coordinated with Panamic Alliance HQ about the deal that he had made with the dark elves, confirming that it didn’t conflict with existing plans. Although he had more than enough authority to override all existing plans with whatever he desired, he knew that would be a foolish move that would undermine trust and sabotage a month’s worth of work that had already been put in when it came to brokering agreements and a treaty with the dark elves.

Over the next week, the Panamic Alliance and the dark elves had begun deliberating extremely frequently as they hashed out the finer points of the agreement. Considering just how important the trade deal and treaty were, they couldn’t afford to come up with something that was ill-thought-out.

At the same time, human civilization was also under a lot of pressure. Each day that passed without them having a single ally in the true world, their predicament grew more and more dangerous and unsustainable, forcing them to make more concessions to the elves than they otherwise would.

One of the bargaining chips that the human side deployed was to highlight the sheer magnitude of the threat that the Evolutionary Army represented in the future. The dark elves were already aware of the tradition of the alpha evosapien male passing on his seed after evolving to create an evolved generation of evosapiens, but they had not been aware to what magnitude the Anthea has done so.

When they compared data, however, the truth became clear. Anthea had become orders of magnitude stronger, similar to a Squire Body Evolution process. Rui would have died then and there if not for the fact that he was at the very end of his lifespan thanks to the evolution and the Gu, unable to even move.

The future generations of evosapiens, however, would be vastly superior to the current generations of evosapiens.

This came as a shock to the dark elves.
