The Martial Unity

Chapter 3101: The Calculus of the Future

In the Royal Office of Emperor Rael, the air was grim.

"What…" his tone was chilling. "What did you just say?"

The atmosphere grew electric.

His Royal Secretary flinched. "…The Reverend of Reckoning was defeated by the supreme commander of the evolutionary army, Your Majesty."

The mood in the air darkened as Emperor Rael closed his eyes, breathing deeply.

"However, the base was destroyed, thus part of the mission was accomplished, Your Majesty."

"I should have sent two Transcendent Candidates," he clenched his fists. "I shouldn't have respected the wishes of Sage Jinryong."

The Emperor of Harmony had to walk a thin line when he was dealing with his Martial Sages.

He couldn't be too heavy-handed and give them the impression that he was trying to control them. He couldn't afford to earn the distrust of the Martial Sages at this critical point in time.

The only reason human civilization was still hanging on was because the Martial Sages agreed to remain in the Kandrian Empire and under his command. Thus, when they offered solutions, he had the policy of accepting a substantial proportion of them in spirit, rather than rejecting all of them and imposing his will on them.

When the Reverend of Reckoning expressed indignation at the notion of being paired up with the Boundless Light or the Omni-Martial, he should have pushed through, despite bruising the man's ego.

Based on the descriptions that the reports made, however, the question remained whether even two Transcendent Candidates would be enough to kick the Evolutionary Army from the Panama Continent.
