The whole notion of being picked up by the streets or the river was such a fun idea to them that they liked being teased that way. But Xiaowang was a child who didn’t joke around a lot. He especially trusted Sanwang, so he actually thought that his brother was serious.
Seeing that he was about to cry, Sanwang quickly held him in his arms and patted his head to comfort him, “Don’t cry, your Little Third Brother is here. I will definitely love you as my own.”
He listened to other adults coaxing children like this before. As far as his imitation was concerned, Xiaowang ended up leaning in his arms and felt comforted.
“Little Third Brother, will mother stop loving me?”
Sanwang, “Of course mother will keep loving you. She doesn’t scold you or hit you at all, she loves you the most.”
Xiaowang thought about it for a while. Although he was not his parents’ biological child, his mother’s love for him was enough.
