Inspector Yao tried to make his way to the control room, while Chuzheng went to deal with the intruders that had snuck in.
Thick smoke lingered in the corridor, and apart from the piercing alarm sound and the occasional tremors and jolts from the ship being attacked, there was no other noise.

A shriek of terror came from behind.
Chuzheng saw a shadow behind her reflected in a nearby metal object. She instantly lowered her posture and slid powerfully backwards, sliding past the shadow.
