Chapter 1241: Chapter 1241: Born Singer (Part 21)
Lisa organized and classified the information on these people, then handed it to Chuzheng.
“The studio won’t sign people.”
Chuzheng didn’t even glance at it.
Lisa was puzzled, “Boss, why?”
Initially, not signing people made sense to her.
Because the studio was just starting out, they didn’t have the resources to promote more people.
But now that the team in the studio is fully staffed, many people are just collecting a salary and playing games or playing cards, so idle they might as well grow Mushrooms.
Now that people are actually interested in signing contracts, picking some talented individuals could be very beneficial for the studio’s development.
Chuzheng lifted her head from behind her desk.
“Lisa.”
Lisa was decisive, and everyone in the studio feared her.
But Lisa also feared Chuzheng, she stood straight and respectfully said, “Boss.”
Chuzheng tapped her fingertips lightly on the edge of the desk twice, “This studio only serves Sheng Yan, understand?”
Lisa: “???”
Not quite understood.
Although she knew Chuzheng valued this group the studio had signed.
Lisa had handled matters before and heard some praise from the teachers.
Proving this group had the potential to become popular.
But…
What does it mean to only serve Sheng Yan?
What about the other two members of Fireworks Group?
Chuzheng didn’t intend to explain further, so she let Lisa leave to ponder it herself.
–
“I heard recently there’s a serial killer targeting single women.”
“Are you talking about the one on Weibo? I saw it too, it’s terrifying, I’m so scared to go home now.”
“Isn’t it just a robber? I heard they’re only after money and sex.”
“Ah…”
Chuzheng passed by the break room and overheard a group of girls gossiping.
“Boss? Why… why are you standing here?”
An employee holding a cup was about to enter the break room but turned to see Chuzheng standing there, startled to the point of almost dropping the cup.
“It’s nothing.”
Chuzheng walked away unbothered.
Back in the office, she took out her phone and searched online.
In the afternoon, all the girls in the studio could leave work early.
Employees: “???”
They already thought leaving at five was early enough, now it’s advanced to three?
This studio is bound to go bankrupt!!
“Boss, why do they get to leave earlier than us?” one male employee protested.
“Because your salary is higher than theirs.”
“…”
The disgruntled employee quickly quieted down and returned to his workstation.
In fact, most employees, except when Sheng Yan and company need them, would be slacking off.
The boss doesn’t care as long as they don’t dismantle the studio, even if they bring a pig to head the studio, she wouldn’t furrow a brow.
Oh!
Most importantly, if any mishap occurs during Fireworks Group’s events that causes losses, you might as well pack up and leave.
Such a good job, nobody wants to get kicked out, so everyone puts in three hundred percent effort during work.
Chuzheng sat in the office watching people leave.
She tapped her fingers on the desk but didn’t hear any notification about a Thank-You Card from King’s Account.
What’s going on!!
I let you leave work early, and none of you thank me?
Chuzheng kicked the desk a few times but still received no Thank-You Card.
This is too much!
Chuzheng reclined in the boss’s chair, clouds gathering overhead, emanating low pressure.
–
[Main task: Please spend one million within an hour.]
Chuzheng suddenly sat up in bed, staring silently at the ceiling, doubting her ears.
[Girl, you didn’t mishear!] King’s Account gloated.
Chuzheng: “???”
Bastard usually doesn’t issue such simple and blunt tasks, did it malfunction today?
[Girl, you only have one hour, time is tight, if you don’t complete it, the amount will double!]
Chuzheng: “!!”
Damn it!
It’s one in the morning!
Where am I supposed to spend a million at one in the morning!
Chuzheng quickly went out, grabbing her phone and card while cursing King’s Account as she frantically pressed the elevator button.
All the stores were closed at this hour, not a single 24-hour one was mysteriously shut, and there were hardly any cars on the road.
Suddenly Chuzheng remembered the gossip she heard at the office.
Could it be because of the news about some murderer?
As this thought flashed by, a woman suddenly dashed out at the junction ahead.
She wasn’t looking at the road, charging straight across the street.
Luckily, Chuzheng braked in time, barely stopping in front of the woman.
“Help… help!” The woman suddenly slapped on the car hood, “Save me, there’s a pervert.”
The woman’s voice was filled with panic, as she circled the car to the passenger side.
Under the lights, Chuzheng saw the woman clearly, terror etched across her pretty face, wearing only a strap dress, half of which was torn, hanging off her arm.
Chuzheng lowered the car window, “Where’s the pervert?”
“Over there, over there…” The woman pointed in the direction she had run from, her voice trembling, “He’s catching up, please let me in the car…”
Chuzheng glanced toward where the woman pointed, barely making out a figure coming from that direction.
However, the person didn’t dare approach, lurking in the shadows, Chuzheng could only see a silhouette.
Chuzheng let the woman in the car, and she gratefully asked Chuzheng to take her to report it.
Chuzheng stopped the car and pushed the door open.
“What… what are you doing?” The woman’s voice was shaking, “Don’t go out, that pervert has a knife…”
Chuzheng pulled out the car keys and slammed the door, locking it.
The woman anxiously tapped on the car window, muffled sounds coming from inside.
Chuzheng strode towards the darkness where the person stood, seemingly surprised Chuzheng got out of the car, they hesitated and decisively turned to flee.
–
Ten minutes later.
Chuzheng dragged back the man like a dead dog.
If a car were to pass by now, they’d definitely think it’s a crime scene.
Chuzheng shoved the man into the car.
The man was unconscious, badly beaten, bruises and swollen face in a sorry state.
Chuzheng turned to glance at the woman sitting in the passenger’s seat, speaking in a domineering manner, “It’s alright now.”
Chuzheng expected the woman to give her a Thank-You Card, but after waiting for a while, there was no response.
Chuzheng’s face turned cold, “Won’t you thank me?”
Her voice was as chilling as mountain snow, without the slightest inflection, sending a shiver to the listener’s heart.
A chill surged from the woman’s feet up to her head.
She felt the girl before her seemed more like a pervert.
Gripping her clothes, she shuddered, stammering, “Th-thank you.”
Although the woman said thank you, Chuzheng didn’t receive any Thank-You Card.
What did that mean?
Was that not heartfelt enough??
Why do all of you prefer speaking falsely! What happened to trust between people!
