Xiao Xuyang knew in his heart, but he didn’t know how to persuade or comfort her. He wanted to give Lu Xinyi enough security, to let Lu Xinyi let go of the aversion she held towards their social circle.
But he had said so much, and also told Lu Xinyi that his parents were different from the other parents in the circle. Yet, Lu Xinyi refused to believe it, taking his words as just sweet talk to deceive her.
"Lu Xinyi, rest assured, my parents won’t make you uncomfortable; they will only be happy, really." Xiao Xuyang’s words were old-fashioned, but Lu Xinyi still refused, shaking her head in rejection.
Xiao Xuyang knew no matter how much he said, it would be to no avail, so he thought to bring her back home directly, to let her see his parents with her own eyes. He was certain that once Lu Xinyi met his parents, all of her previous worries and aversions would cease to exist.
However, he never expected that even when they were at the doorstep, Lu Xinyi refused to get out of the car. This made him incredibly anxious. And because Lu Xinyi was pregnant, Xiao Xuyang dared not to pull at her, fearing that he might accidentally hurt her.
"Hey, second brother, why is your car stopped here? And why aren’t you going inside after getting home? Why stand outside the door?" Xiao Shiyao just so happened to be returning home, and, rather unusually, she didn’t let Xu Haoyang drive her; she drove back by herself.
When she got to the doorstep, she saw her second brother, Xiao Xuyang, standing next to the car with the front passenger door open, as if he was talking to someone inside. Her car was too far to see clearly who was sitting inside.
Only when she drove her car closer did she see who was inside the car. "Lu Xinyi? Why are you in my second brother’s car?" Xiao Shiyao was surprised to see Lu Xinyi and blurted it out.
