Following Xia Yujie’s movements, Liu Yuxiang noticed that behind Situ Xin, there was a man with a stern face. "Huh, so it’s this kid," he muttered under his breath. "The chase is indeed tight. But I wonder how capable this little lady is?" When Liu Yuxiang got a clearer look at Xiao Muli’s appearance, he quietly mumbled to himself.
Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang were very familiar with Xiao Muli; when Situ Xin asked them to help investigate the Xiao Family, they also looked into Xiao Muli. Consequently, they had long been aware of Xiao Muli’s amorous feelings towards Situ Xin.
Liu Yuxiang and Xia Yujie had even laughed and bet on when Xiao Muli would confess to Situ Xin upon receiving this information. And for this reason, they never told Situ Xin about Xiao Muli’s feelings for her.
Although Liu Yuxiang’s muttering was soft, Situ Xin, Xiao Muli, and Xia Yujie all heard it. Xia Yujie gave Liu Yuxiang a look of exasperation, silently cursing him for being good for nothing but causing trouble. If the young miss found out they had been gambling on her embarrassment, goodness knows how she would deal with them. Xia Yujie sneaked a glance at Situ Xin, and only after seeing that her expression had not changed did he breathe a sigh of relief.
Xiao Muli was startled by Liu Yuxiang’s murmured words. He hadn’t expected his little secret to be known to Liu Yuxiang. Since they had known about his feelings for Situ Xin for some time without intervening or acting on their own initiative, it was clear they didn’t harbor romantic feelings for her.
Situ Xin also caught the underlying meaning of Liu Yuxiang’s words. Her facial expression remained unchanged, but inside, she took mental note of Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang, planning to settle accounts with them when the time was right.
"Let’s go inside. My grandma, grandpa, mom, and auntie are all inside waiting for you guys. When we get in, I’ll introduce you," Situ Xin announced. Upon hearing this, the expressions of Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang instantly changed.
They had never imagined that one day, Situ Xin would introduce them to her family. Despite knowing her for so many years and their relationship improving, they had envied Situ Muli for being able to openly accompany Situ Xin. Despite their envy, they were well aware that their identities as people from the Underworld stood in total opposition to her family’s status, thus they never dared hope to be formally introduced to her relatives.
"Master, did you say your family is also here?" After a long pause, Liu Yuxiang recovered his voice, staring at Situ Xin in disbelief as he asked. His eyes, however, sparkled with excitement.
"Are your ears not working? I just explained it so clearly and you still haven’t understood? Come on, let’s not keep my grandmother and grandma waiting," Situ Xin replied, noticing the change in Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang. Understanding why they were surprised, she quickly changed the subject.
There was some distance to the private room from the entrance, and along the way, Situ Xin couldn’t help but express her concerns. "Ah Jie, did you guys come here because the Dragon Society is facing some thorny issue?"
