Yet Situ Xin did not want Xiao Muli to know about her space. After all, she hadn’t even told her own family, let alone Xiao Muli, who was still just a boyfriend under evaluation. The future was uncertain, to say the least.
"I should at least help you carry some things. I’m your boyfriend now. If others knew that I was sitting comfortably in the car while my girlfriend went up to fetch things all by herself, who knows what they might say?" Xiao Muli said with a look of determination to accompany her upstairs.
Xiao Muli’s words left Situ Xin without a chance to retort. Before she could find an excuse, she found herself, still dazed, being led towards the hotel by Xiao Muli. Situ Xin suddenly realized that from the moment she agreed to date Xiao Muli and see how things would go, her world with him had completely changed.
If it had been before, she would have been the dominant one in her relationship with Xiao Muli. Her word was law, and Xiao Muli would not have contradicted her, always accommodating her demands. But now, things were completely different. In several instances during their time together, it was Xiao Muli who held the dominant position, and she would find herself involuntarily adhering to his wishes.
As Xiao Muli held her hand and they entered the hotel, Situ Xin realized that she shouldn’t simply let Xiao Muli come to her room to fetch things. If it were just to get some cosmetics, Situ Xin wouldn’t be worried about him following her because Xiao Muli knew about the Storage Ring. She could just say she took it out of the Storage Ring, but it wasn’t that simple—she had to enter the space and process the cosmetics she intended to take out. And these were details that she could not let Xiao Muli know.
Situ Xin looked on as Xiao Muli, holding her hand, passed the lobby and reached the elevator. Her heart was racing with urgency, yet she still couldn’t think of an excuse to prevent Xiao Muli from going up with her. She somewhat regretted why she agreed to have Xiao Muli accompany her back in the first place.
"Ding dong," as Situ Xin’s mind raced, the elevator doors opened.
"Oh, Baby. Muli? What are you two doing here? Have you finished your work, Baby?" The elevator doors opened, and to her surprise, out stepped Old Madam Situ, Old Madam Loo, and Loo Yaxin. The three of them, knowing that Situ Xin was busy, had not gone out shopping but had stayed in to pass the time at the hotel. Finding it a bit stuffy inside, they had decided to go down to the nearby area to stroll around and grab something to eat.
"Grandma, maternal grandma. Mom, we haven’t finished our work yet. We’re just back to pick up some things," Situ Xin saw her grandmothers and a thought suddenly flashed in her mind. "Grandma, maternal grandma, Mom, where are you off to?"
"Oh, we felt a little peckish and thought we’d go down nearby to see what we could find to eat," Old Madam Situ replied, making Situ Xin barely suppress a chuckle. Her grandmother truly lived up to the title of being her perfect grandmother.
