Chapter 317: A Disguised Matchmaking Banquet (2)_1
Old Master Xiao had long set his sights on a granddaughter-in-law. In his mind, no one but Situ Xin could possibly be worthy of his grandson.
"Come here, Muli," Xiao Yongxin called as he entered the banquet hall, dragging Xiao Muli towards a middle-aged man. "This is the current head of the Wenren Family. You can just call him Uncle Wenren."
When Situ Xin, Xiao Muli, and Baibai entered the banquet hall, they immediately drew everyone’s attention. It wasn’t just because of Situ Xin’s beauty or Xiao Muli’s handsomeness, but because of Baibai, the white tiger.
Some of the more timid women, upon seeing Baibai the white tiger, would have screamed if not for the sake of preserving their dignity in such a setting. Everyone’s eyes turned to Baibai, and the murmurs began instantly: "My God, that’s a tiger."
"How did they bring a tiger here? How could the Xiao Family agree to let them bring a tiger into the place?"
"This tiger won’t bite people, will it?" Baibai rolled its eyes at the surrounding chatter, but no one noticed the gesture.
Situ Xin was rather nonchalant about the commotion Baibai had caused. "Baibai, I told you not to come, to stay at home. Look at the stir you’ve caused. Who knows, you might be tomorrow’s front-page news." An ordinary person might fear that the authorities, upon learning someone had a tiger at their side, would rush over and insist the animal be taken to a zoo.
But to Situ Xin, this wasn’t a concern at all. Whether it was because of her status as the little princess of the Loo Family, a member of the Situ Family, or her role as the Dark Division Leader, those above wouldn’t dare to offend her over a mere tiger. That’s why she could so boldly bring Baibai around with her.
Xiao Yongjie, on the other hand, was entirely focused on introducing his niece to Xiao Muli.
"So this is the current Patriarch Xiao. Truly an outstanding figure," Wenren Boyi said with a smile upon seeing Xiao Muli. "It’s surprising that someone so young has already taken the position of Patriarch Xiao," Wenren Boyi remarked, somewhat wistfully.
Though the Wenren Family was also an aristocratic family, they couldn’t compare to the Xiao Family. In contrast to Wenren Boyi’s enthusiasm, Xiao Muli was much cooler. He simply nodded at Wenren Boyi.
