After returning to her room, Situ Xin didn’t go to sleep, instead reflecting upon the snippets of conversation she had overheard earlier that evening. It just so happened that Situ Haotian and the others had received their task notification yesterday and had decided to rest at home rather than return to the military base. So Old Master Situ, excited, called them all over.
When Situ Haotian, Situ Haoran, and Xiao Guobing took the guns from Old Master Situ and weighed them in their hands, they could tell right away how formidable these guns were, despite not having tested them. "These were left behind by Baby’s master. Take these and take a look," Old Master Situ said as he handed them the paper which outlined the performance of the two guns.
Just as the three of them were slightly cheered due to the acquisition of advanced weaponry, Situ Haoran’s phone rang.
As Situ Haoran heard the ringtone, he wondered who would call him at such a time. But as soon as he answered with a "Hello," his complexion changed dramatically. Only when he replied, "Yes, I understand," did he hang up the phone.
"Haoran, who was that? What’s the matter?" Old Master Situ, seeing his eldest son’s expression, knew it wasn’t good news.
"I’ve received orders from above, telling Haotian and Guobing to return to the base immediately to prepare for deployment," Situ Haoran said with a stern face.
