Chapter 83: Silver Woman
"They are definitely planning this out," Jake thought. He paused for a brief moment, looking at the monsters. Just now, they had moved with a timing that could only be called perfect; they knew what moment to move and what attack to carry out.
The goblins were all distractions, and the main attack was what followed after he killed the goblins. There was no way these monsters unanimously thought about attacking him in that pattern, so that meant the king was controlling them somehow.
"Monsters that have coordination and control, they’ll be hard to deal with," Jake thought.
The Minotaurs rushed at him at the same time, coming from three angles. The one at the center attacked with an overhead strike, and the two from the left and right swung their axes diagonally.
There was a very slim chance of escaping, and Jake immediately took it, bending backwards so much he almost reached a ninety-degree angle.
The blades of the axes passed him just barely. Jake knew he wasn’t going to be able to come back up after bending that way, so he flipped and got on his feet. He lunged forward before the Minotaurs could react, thrusting his spear into the gut of the Minotaur, ripping it out.
He spun the spear, ran forward, leaped up and used the body of the falling Minotaur to push himself higher. He threw the spear, stabbing through the head of the second one.
He landed on the ground and rushed at the third one without any weapon. The Minotaur attacked, swinging its axe at full force, but Jake dodged it and grabbed it by the leg and toppled the Minotaur.
He ran up to the head of the Minotaur and crushed its head before it could move. He was barely done with defeating that Minotaur when he heard a resounding roar coming from the wall.
All the monsters immediately turned back and started running toward the wall.
