Chapter 46: A question
Immediately they attacked, Jake ordered the undead skeletons to get into place. They immediately moved and blocked the paths, colliding with the adventurers, but they weren’t enough, so Jake went in with Crypt.
They pushed back all the adventurers, but the adventurers were not having it. They needed to take the girl out and secure their freedom.
They attacked to kill, fireballs and ice flew through the air. It was at this point Jake knew there was no stopping them. He ordered the skeletons, as well as Crypt, to kill, and without hesitation they started attacking to kill. Blood splattered everywhere, bodies fell to the ground, dead, unmoving.
The scene stunned everyone as they watched their fellow comrades fall to the ground, and at the center of it was Jake, standing with a spear in hand. But there was no remorse on his face; he bore the weight of his actions without batting an eye.
"No one touches the girl. If you do not like that, come at me." Jake spat out those words. It had finally gotten to the point where his stance had to be pushed through with force.
No one dared move after that. They watched the blood spread across the floor. But their shock and fear were cut short because the monsters started coming in.
They expected Orcs and Goblins, but what came out shattered their will to fight. Ogres marched out, armored and carrying weapons, hundreds of them walking out in their towering heights.
The adventurers began backing down, heading toward the center. A fully grown ogre was at least an intermediate monster with high intellect. To fight a monster like that, you would need to be at least a one-gold star adventurer or a three-silver star.
{Kekekekeke, it seems we had to bring in better monsters. After all, you all got a hint.} The Whisper said.
