Legendary Necromancer: My First Summon is the Undead Dragon

Chapter 2: Legendary Necromancer

Jake paused after hearing that, his eyes widened as the realization of what she said unraveled in his mind. All the pain he had been through flashed before his eyes, the memories flooded his brain. He recalled everything that had happened all through his life and how they all made him curse life itself.

Only to now realize that all that was a mistake? That every pain he had gone through was someone’s error, and that person was standing right in front of him.

A tear dripped down the side of his eye. He closed his eyes, tilted his head and took a deep breath. The goddess watched this in confusion. She had believed that his first reaction would be anger and rage, but he wasn’t doing any of that right now.

"It’s funny," he said, and then looked down at her. Seeing her confused look, he explained.

"I would have been filled with rage if I found out this when I was alive, but for some reason, it doesn’t seem to matter to me now.

I’m hearing it and I hate it, but I can’t seem to get angry, just sad. Sad that I lived my life seeing myself as a curse that also cursed others, only to find out too late that I wasn’t really a curse," he said. He watched her expression and saw her countenance drop more as he spoke.

"Don’t be sad, it wasn’t your fault, it was an error I guess. And I’m sure there was no way to reverse it after you did it.

And even if it was your fault, what’s the point of crying over spilled milk? After all, you are a goddess, I’m a dead soul, what am I going to do, punch you?" he said with a soft chuckle.

"So where do I go after here? Hell? Heaven? Or are those actually not real and just a human concept?" he asked.
