Chapter 451: The King Of All Evil’s Desperation
------
“Song…! You did it!”
The Heavenly Empress gazed at the skies as her son felt reborn for the second time.
His first rebirth had come when his other self—the boy born from his Records—merged with him.
Now, Song Weisheng was reborn once more. His father had taught him one final lesson even as he awakened to his true power.
“Amazing… Well done, Song!”
Anna smiled tenderly as she watched him. The giant monster made of countless arms, Legion, was still alive despite the brutal battle. Though it continued regenerating endlessly, the creature looked utterly exhausted. Unlike the other two Demon Generals, Legion could not speak, yet its visible terror was unmistakable.
“Well, looks like I should wrap things up, shouldn’t I?”
She grinned at the drained Legion, who seemed on the verge of collapse from its constant regeneration.
“Father…”
Song looked skyward, where clouds swirled ceaselessly, constantly reshaping themselves.
He could feel his father’s presence within them, as if the man had ascended to heaven despite all his sins.
“Despite everything, Father… Heaven recognized your efforts and knew how deeply you regretted what you did…” A tear slipped down his cheek. “I’m so happy you’re there, watching over us…”
Smiling through his tears, Song clenched his fists. Red feathers began sprouting across his body, followed by a blazing, colorful tail—golden, blue, and crimson.
“A Phoenix…?”
With the creation of his Heroic Heart of Will and the Heavenly Willpower Ki, the crimson flames he wielded baptized his body, granting him powerful regeneration.
He was not yet a full-fledged Phoenix, but he could feel their blazing power surging within him.
Phoenixes, long-extinct avian Beast People of Bestia, were said to be mystically tied to fire, capable of wielding flames that could heal anything.
Was this a gift from Heaven?
Or perhaps the awakening of his latent bloodline, born from the union of two of this world’s strongest beings?
Whatever the case, it had granted him even greater strength—the exact power he needed to avenge his father.
He glared at Lucifer. With Centurion and Morax dead, the King of All Demons, despite his monstrous draconic form, was growing increasingly desperate.
Though he had taken one of their beloved family members, he had not broken their hearts.
If anything, the despair and desperation of the moment had only united them further.
“DAMNED DEMON! MY FATHER WILL NOT GO UNAVENGED!”
Song roared with raw fury, spreading his wings, which blazed red, white, and black with his Crimson Flames of Blazing Willpower.
“TCH! FUCKING BRAT! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU’RE TALKING TO?!”
“I’LL KILL YOU NO MATTER WHAT!!!”
Song and Lucifer locked eyes, both seething with utter wrath.
For some reason, Song’s aura filled Lucifer with visceral disgust.
Song’s entire existence had become the Demon King’s polar opposite. This fight was no longer just about making Anna suffer.
Lucifer couldn’t stand his voice or that radiant aura of power.
The King of All Demons was painfully reminded of that damned crow who had torn away a piece of his soul—and of a past he despised.
“That disgusting righteous face, those eyes full of determination! So ugly…! You have no beauty, no grace—you’re nothing but a disgusting fool! That’s what you and everyone else are! I’LL STOMP YOU LIKE THE BUGS YOU ARE!”
“Heh…”
“Hahahaha!”
“Well, well, well…”
“Would you look at that!”
“Is the Demon King finally angered?”
“I thought you always had everything under control?!”
“Were we wrong?”
The other Demons Anna had sent against him laughed, glaring at Lucifer with mocking eyes. Despite being far beneath him in power, they ridiculed him without fear.
“TRASH! YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW YOUR PLACE!!!”
Enraged, the King of All Evil unleashed seven devastating breath attacks. The demons, along with the Heavenly Empress, scrambled to evade the assault.
BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!
Countless explosions rained down upon them. Lucifer, now fully unhinged, grew more tired and frustrated that nothing was going his way.
“STOP, YOU MONSTER!”
Song descended like a blazing crimson meteor, reaching Lucifer in an instant. He clashed against the Demon King, unleashing a massive explosion of crimson holy fire while splitting his aura into seven powerful fists that struck several of Lucifer’s heads at once.
BOOOMMM!!!
Their auras collided violently, generating a gigantic shockwave that erupted into a cataclysmic explosion. Lucifer vomited blood from all seven heads, his skulls nearly shattering from the impact.
“Morax and Centurion are dead!” Lucifer screamed furiously. “To think those useless bastards couldn’t even last a minute against you! I barely recovered any power!”
Driven mad with rage, Lucifer attacked Song and the Heavenly Empress, while the other Demons retreated from his terrifying flames.
Except for one.
“GRAAAAAHHHH!”
The furious Fifth Demon King—born from Song himself, though now soulless—roared with immense fury. Facing Lucifer head-on, he conjured dozens of powerful cannons out of thin air using his technomancy and opened fire.
BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!
Dozens of photon energy beams struck Lucifer, bombarding him with loud, devastating explosions that left large, scorched wounds across his scales and flesh.
“UUGGGH…! T-That’s the damn Demon King?! I knew something was odd about that one—he was too strong! How is he not obeying me anymore?! He’s… obeying Anna?! Is this how she turned those insects against me?!”
Lucifer glared at Anna furiously, but smirked when he saw her still facing Legion, assuming she was struggling.
“Heh! Turns out Legion’s endless regeneration is more than you can handle, huh?! Stay right there while I slaughter these two birds! I can’t wait to see your face twisted in despair once again!”
As the King of All Evil grinned maniacally, the Heavenly Empress and her son rushed at him from both sides.
RUMBLE!
Meanwhile, Anna faced Legion with her many swords. Her previous attacks had already sliced through the demon’s arms countless times, yet more continued sprouting without end.
“If I calculate correctly, you’re a being composed entirely of arms, right?”
“GRUOOOHHHH!”
Dozens of gigantic arms, some dozens of meters long, surged toward her. Some resembled decaying zombie limbs, others were made of bone, while some were covered in insectoid chitin with long, sharp claws. A few were studded with eyes or jaws—or both.
Each arm possessed unique powers. The heavily armored bone arms focused on defense, the eye-covered ones spread curses and decay or fired laser beams, and the jaw-covered arms relentlessly chased Anna, trying to tear her armor apart.
“{Myriad Blade Arts}!”
However, Anna was no longer the same. Though she would have struggled greatly against a Demon General of this caliber before, she was now Bestia’s third Venerable, the embodiment of Boundless Love.
“{Crescent Rainbow Star}!”
She swung her swords at lightning speed, leaping into the air and spinning. Her aura manifested as dozens of sword-wielding copies of herself, unleashing a star-shaped barrage from all the accumulated slashes at once.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
Dozens of Legion’s arms were instantly severed, reduced to fleshy mush, and burned to ashes by her holy power.
Screaming in agony over the loss of so many limbs, Legion howled. Anna didn’t hesitate. She stepped forward, enveloping herself in golden and pink lightning as she activated her [Divine Thunder God Body: Raijin’s Embodiment] skill to further empower her Venerable form.
FLASH!
In a split second, she reached Legion’s core.
Indeed, the Demon General had a true core, a large mass of flesh containing his brain and vital organs.
He wasn’t merely an endless mass of sprouting arms like a hydra; he possessed an actual body.
“I found you!”
With all her swords, she swung down, piercing Legion’s core before it could regenerate more arms.
“You’re lucky I’m such a benevolent woman! Instead of killing you, I’ll make you my friend!”
As holy power pierced his body and severely weakened him, thousands of holy chains wrapped around his soul and flesh, sealing his true strength.
Anna opened a portal to Purgatory and forced him inside.
“GRUUUAAAAAGGH!”
Legion resisted desperately, his countless arms grabbing the edges of the portal in a frantic attempt to escape.
But Anna rushed forward, slicing through his arms until he finally fell through.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
CLAAASH!
She sealed his fate with a powerful kick.
Legion tumbled into the Purgatory Realm, instantly enveloped by a gentle pink light.
“GUUUH? HUH?”
Confused, he had expected death, yet… he felt strangely at peace. A fog that had clouded his mind for so long seemed to have lifted.
“Looks like Lucifer’s Mark of Enslavement is gone. Legion, I won’t be nice just because of that. I know you were still quite evil. Even so, I’ll give you a second chance. Join me, and I’ll make sure Lucifer pays for what he did to you. Plus… you get to live. It’s a good offer, right?”
“GAAAHH… GRAAAH!”
Legion wasn’t the thinking type, so he agreed instantly, becoming Anna’s new Demon Familiar.
